one of my favorite writers wrote a book "the last picture show" not one of his best, but still pretty good.

they made a movie of it. and then ~20 years later they made the sequel that takes place 20 years later with all the same cast. pretty incredible. first movie was good, but the second movie was meh lol

show looks amazing this season....it always did, but something's different - bigger budget maybe? But the effects just look that much better, and the backgrounds are much more busy and detailed.

I'm enjoying this season way more than last season. The scope has been expanded again and we aren't stuck on that boring ass planet focused on a handful of people.

Agree with Dominic that it looks amazing.

Just finished catching up with this season with the first 4 eps. It seemed like they really upgraded the production values. Beautiful sci fi effects and sounds. The spider machine was a thrill to watch. Space scenes are special. The acting is better too, imo. The multiple storylines move at a snail's pace though.

weird people don't like alex, he's probably top 3-4 for me, I find him to be nice comical relief, don't really need the **** story about him reuniting with his family though

bobbie's acting seemingly sucks but i find her kind of endearing and maybe she's supposed to be awkwardly rigid

Absolutely agree on the bolded. Wes Chatham is still nailing the character. 100% the Amos from the books.

I'm behind on this season just watching episode two now, forgot about Camina who I thought they were gonna kill off year 3. Like her as well.

Probably lots of good characters I forgot on the long hiatus.

Yeah, I didn't love the first season, either, but it gets better, albeit with some unevenness. I don't regard it as among the elite shows on TV, but at its best it's pretty damn good. I basically view it as very similar in that regard to BSG.
