Melba, the Slow Zone, and MILLER IS BACK!

Don't know how I feel about no Pa/Bull/Sam. Makes sense I guess and it was somewhat obvious show Drummer was headed to replace one of them. Curious how Naomi fits in here, but it was a smart decision to put her on the Behemoth, regardless. Straitharn as Ashford is awesome, A+++ work.

Don't like the Clarissa casting--Clarissa is supposed to be this tiny ball of death. They really should have just recast the Julie actress, even if it would have confused TV plebs.

Curious if they finish all of book 3 this season. It would seem to make sense considering there are seven episodes left and I can't think of a good time to end the season until end of book 3.

Thinking ahead (and assuming Amazon does pick it up), how are they going to do book 4? Book 4 probably my least favorite, so I'm fine with it being condensed as much as possible.

Drummer in the show has always looked to me like a composite character. She really doesn't get much exposure in the books until book 5.
I'll also miss Bull/Pa/Sam, but in reality, that would be too many new characters to introduce in a TV show, so I get why they're doing it the way they are.

I was also wondering how they'd handle Bobbie. No way they let her character disappear for 2 whole season since she's pretty absent from the books until book 5. I'm assuming she's in the group of MCRN Marines that follow Holden into the alien structure. Show-wise, that's a good thing. I'm not sure they finish book 3 in 6 episodes. Too much happens in the lead up to the reveals inside the alien structure. I'd be disappointed if they gave either that or the issues that led to the battle on the Behemoth short shrift.

Finally, I differ from you in that I really enjoyed book 4, more so on my second reading. Book 3 and 4 really flesh out Amos. Rushing book 3 to finish in half a season wouldn't do that justice.
