Not enough in it to suggest that they'll be focusing on what I want them to- Dexter getting caught/being on the run.

Guess we're Dexter fans for life, i tried hitting myself with an amnesia coconut, but only managed some scar tissue.

For me, the best part of Dexter for the last two seasons has been reading the threads here, so i'm glad to see some ppl back.

I don't watch trailers and previews, would appreciate it if no one posts any information that's in them, apart from the general: "this looks promising."

Things i'd like to see this season:


1 Quinn dying of cancer, he summons his former stripper GF to his hospital bed.
Her stripper friend shows up instead and informs him in her emotionless accent "she says she loves you and doesn't want you to die because you mean a lot to her."

2 Dexter going to a voodoo priest and has the ghost of Harry exorcised.
Harry pleads for his (after)life and Dexter mocks him for dying twice in Django unchained.

3 A whole bottle episode taking place at Angel's restaurant.
Angel realizes he has a famous food critic dining there and manages to recruit the whole gang to make a delicious meal.
No killing, no intrigue, just a cooking show with fantastic recipes .

4 An episode where all the characters except Dexter have voice overs.


5 Lumen or Hannah are seen tracking down Dexter. This builds up slowly over several episodes, until finally they are outside his home with a gun and a video camera.
Then they decide to turn back and are never seen again.
Pointless.

6 A new serial killer is in town.
He is nicknamed "the rat king", because he only kills sewage workers and he wears a rat mask, also he rides a giant rat.
Dexter finally catches him and makes him eat rat poison, the city is saved.
Dexter muses about all of us being giant rats in a bigger sewer.

7 During the course of #6, captain Matthews yells "I've had it with these motherlovin' rats in this motherlovin' city."

Dexter producers do a great job of making worthwhile trailers to build the excitement for the prospect of non-AIDS, but then make seasons that slowly build disappointment due to AIDS seasons. This one will likely be no exception.

In to rail, fully expect this Season to be annoying, slow and stupid, like the last 2. . .

...but with a "shocking", albeit ******ed and implausible, final sequence.

What is wrong with people? Season 4 was one of the strongest TV series of all time. John Lithgow was incredible. Agreed that after that the seasons were mediocre at best. Out of seasons 5-7 I thought 7 was at least the strongest.

I didn't.

man, I'm so pumped! i know a lot of people here dislike the shows direction, but discount S6 and this may be the greatest running show on television. Probably is a good thing we are seeing an ending though

Season 1 is one the of best first seasons of all time and to me one the best seasons of all time but god it's gotten bad. Showtime has had HUGE issues remaining level of quality for their shows.

Weeds--good first couple of seasons and then turds
Dexter--Great 1st season and then a few solid seasons mixed in with turds.
Shameless--Been great the whole time so kind of against their norm.
Homeland--A GOAT first season followed by a good but not as amazing 2nd season.

I've watched Episodes but I thought that was pretty bad all along. Hoping Ray Donovan is solid.

Upon rewatch i see that season 1 was terrible as well. At the time i thought it was great but idk what i was thinking. The dialogue is terrible, plot lines implausible and characters are awful caricatures.

Having said that it's 10x better than the last season and almost certainly better than the aids about to be unleashed upon us.

In order to make the show better they should of never went to 8 seasons is my guess.

I enjoy the show more than others so I'm excited for it to start.

S1-4 are fantastic seasons. It's probably not your cup of tea. Never meant to be a realistic television show and it's deff all made a bit light hearted so the flat characters aren't a surprise either. It's when they went all serious business that they started to suck when you think of it (Rita dying).

Season 8 premiers this Sunday. Usually the first episode has leaked by now but this year they are probably keeping it locked up.

Michael C. Hall gave a really good interview on the Kevin Pollak show this week. It's about 2 hours long.
