Solid first Ep.

Rich kid was a terrible actor / bad writing maybe. Just wow bad.

Watched first ep. Liked it, especially the cold snowy setting in upstate rural New York state. Amazing to see how they showed that nearly every possible minority group character lives in that small town within the first 15 minutes of the episode. Plot was a bit sloppy:

Spoiler:
1. The rich wall street guy never even tries to offer Dexter a lot of money to release him. For him, it would seem to be a natural negotiation . Of course, the chances that the guy would find the stag at exactly the time Dexter was standing right next to it are near zero but what the heck.

2. Harrison, his son. shows up and Dexter doesn't ask him anything about his mother or what he really wants, just kicks him out. Then later he sees him again but still no revelations.

3. Dexter gets really emotional in his kill. Seemed out of character. Maybe I'm mis-remembering the original character
.

The publicity is that the Trinity killer will be shown, but only in a flashback. Still liked that "Dexter" is back.

It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I think I’ll hold off on the new few eps though. The whole season will be cliffhanger based and that gets annoying fast lol

Hope it doesn't end up being true but after two episodes of the "new" season I'm calling the rich kid's Dad as the main serial killer, 'bad guy', and expecting him to at some point abduct Dexter's son, Harrison, in retaliation for what Dexter did to his son.

I'm also not a die hard Dexter guy and missed alot of the later seasons many in this thread talk badly upon. I also enjoyed the first three or four seasons but after that found myself drifting on and off and never even ended up seeing how it all ended up in season eight because like many of you I just became disinterested in what was actually happening in the show.

The "new" season preview brought me back. So far I have to say as always the actor of Dexter is top notch and also have to say the actor playing Harrison is also doing quite a good job as well. I'm still expecting the plot to somewhat follow in line with what I'm predicting above. Hope for not.

This prediction seems so much like what will happen, it should get spoiler alerts.

The rich father of the son who was killed is NOT the serial killer...I think it's the oil magnate guy.

That was a pretty freaking good episode!! Makes it that much more annoying that it’s a week to week! Should be a nifty rest of the season!

I'm not sure Harrison's motives are making sense...he makes a friend, helps him deal with bullies, see's he's disturbed, and then...slashes him and sets him up? Why?

If Harrison has Dexter's "dark passenger" as his father suspects, it seems like that would lead him to want to hurt someone he's not friends with, a stranger, someone who can't play the "he said/he said" game after the fact.

I mean, I guess he's following after Dexter in hurting people who hurt others - even if Ethan's was only a plan to hurt.

Harrison seems pretty level-headed -why not just go to the authorities once he realizes how disturbed Ethan is? Why this complicated story?

Harrison was born in 2009. His age kinda pisses me off.

Congratulations, the plot is still very sloppy. Also to comment on your first statement it was quite obvious to me as well and then I went a step further and "dug" into the imdb files of the current actor/actresses of the new series.

Audrey Bishop, the podcast reporter, is being played by non only than Johnny Sequoyah. I was almost certain at that point that the show managers cast the hottest trans I've ever seen in my life to play that female pod-caster. After further research though it does feel that she was in fact born female, named Johnny, and in fact still equally attractive as a female by nature by my review. Still the question to ask, "who names their infant daughter, Johnny?" She was born in Idaho. Maybe a die hard Cobra Kai fan?, idk.

Johnny is the daughter. The podcaster is played by CHALLENGE legend Jamie Chung.

Well not the greatest season of Dexter, but ep 6 upped the show a bit with the cave scene and the Harrison wrestling scene.

Yeah season is fine,

getting a bit tired of this dad / son relationship. He wants to be a dad now, but then chooses to take a phone call instead of discussing with his son about snapping someones arm in front of the entire school. Just lol bad, and the caller was someone who just said they dont want to talk to dexter anymore... just one of many points with them.

nit picky, but it doesnt flow.

I’m enjoying this season but I had very low expectations. Not as good as the early seasons but a lot better than the later seasons.

So I called the main serial killer correct but no longer really expect him to abduct Dexter's son. They seem to be pulling Harrison towards Kurt Caldwell so probably will be Harrison rebelling against Dexter and getting closer to Kurt the next few episodes as Dexter continually warns Harrison to stay away from Kurt all while investigating Kurt from a distance. Does Kurt know Dexter killed his son? Thinking back to those earlier episodes Kurt's 180 and then lying about his son, etc makes me feel he somehow atleast found out that his son was dead. Maybe he had his own surveillance set up somewhere and caught Dexter disposing of the body.

In regards to the oil magnate guy. Was his only point in the show to throw viewers off to Kurt being the killer? destroying the environment bad, etc. Maybe some strange twist in upcoming episodes that involves him. They've got four more episodes; Skin of Her Teeth, Unfair Game, The Family Business, Sins of the Father. It seems like something unexpected has to happen because that's too much time with to little killing if it's only down to what we know so far.

Agree about this one, but still rather enjoying this season overall (even though I hated the first episode) and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Thankful they're giving us this after all those tormented years.

Why the **** did he steal Debs body from the hospital and dump her in the ocean goddamnit?!
