Yeah, there is more to happen with this guy. How many interns have a pad like that? This guy is either a serial killer and/or will find out or knows about Dexter. All the things we may have thought about the chick in the beginning are true of this guy instead. He is the true serial killer junkie.

If he does find out, he's gonna die at the end of this season since there are 2 more seasons to come.

The dialogue between the psychiatrist and Debra was beyond awful. It's hard to imagine the people who were writing the dialogues in the early seasons are writing this sh*t. Table and a chair mother****ers. So simple but yet so complex.

Last scene was also brilliant. Oh wait where is this noise coming from? There's a super secret hideout underneath this very heavy table. I'm pretty sure Geller went in there and then put the table over the door to trap me. Let me get in and show him who's boss. Also great great thinking by Travis to expect his plan to work out precisely like it did. Amazing. You could't even write these stuff for the coyote and the roadrunner.

Travis has no "plan". They've made it pretty clear that he legitimately has split personality and genuinely believes that Geller is talking to him and doing things that he himself is in fact doing.

The hotel scene with the bloody wall writing makes no sense whatsoever if Travis knows Geller is dead and is just using him to deceive Dexter.

Travis is bat-**** insane.

I know I'm a few weeks behind, but I just finished episode 5, and I haven't read any spoilers regarding EJO.

But I personally think he is NOT real when interacting with Hanks.

The scene in the car is the directors almost telling you, no smacking you in the face with a sledgehammer, that EJO is the one INSIDE of Hanks making him able to do these things.

like this:

fight club minor spoiler, just in case, youtube video that is 5 seconds long

do we want credit or praise, or would it be enough to just see GhostDoakes berating Dexter for the whole of season 7.

"these are the terms and conditions under which we can discuss my opinions."

24 was great to watch way back when and is a solid rec for people who are looking to marathon something. But it's not really of a quality commensurate with best of all time drama.

Deb and her shrink continue a long trend of Dexter writers coming up with constructs to tell the audience exactly how the characters are feeling.

Thanks for the mature opinion. For your $, what are your top 3 dramas ever?

WRT 24, IMO it is by far one of the best action-dramas ever made, but it's in a completely different category to stuff like Breaking Bad or Dexter. It was never fun to watch because of its complex character development or high-quality dialogue, it was fun because the writers knew exactly how to squeeze every ounce of tension out of the real-time format.

24 was a great show, but it deserves to be compared with other fast-moving stuff like Prison Break instead of being compared to BB, Dexter or anything else. 24 broke a lot of new ground in taking the action-movie format and making it work in TV form, but in narrative terms it wasn't really anything that hadn't been done before. The advantage that Dexter should have as a show is an entirely unique premise - however, the ingenuity of its conception is starting to get overshadowed by the ham-fisted approach its writers take to writing for complex characters.

A lot of shoddy stuff this episode, so this one is lower on the list, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet:

At the end of the episode, Dexter tells Travis to go in the front of the church, he'll sneak in the back. We then see a long scene of Travis talking to Gellar, plenty of time for Dexter to come in and see Travis talking to thin air! Dexter is usually pretty good about syringing his victims ASAP to disable them, but this time, we cut to him...and he's setting up plastic, unrolling his knives, when Gellar (who has gotten away from him at least 2 or 3 times already) is supposedly IN THE NEXT ROOM. All so we can see him have a converstaion with his dad about wanting to "be a better father" to his own son. How touching...and completely horribly uncharacteristic for him.

Also, is labgeek going to be connected to hot chick from Heroes who stole the ITK hand in the first place? What are the odds that TWO new interns would be obsessed with it and do shady things?

Watched the whole season up to now in a couple of days. Did not suspect Geller was not real. Now feeling like a bit of a ****** after reading the last page of this thread.

I have thought the season has been pretty good. Perhaps not having a week to think about each episode and instead just hammering one after enough for a few hours, while also playing poker on a second monitor has made it more enjoyable.
