What makes the ending that good? There are tons of better season finales imo.

Just watched all 5 seasons to catch up. For me, 1>2>>4>>>>3>5. I actually liked the second half of S5, but the finale was disappointing and there were too many pointless episodes and plotholes this season imo. The whole quinn situation, with him being absolved just because the blood didn't match, despite all the other suspicions, is just lol.

I wanted to quote your rankings and ask you how you could have Miguel Prados season next to last. But then I recalled how amazing 1,2,4 were so I agree 100% (except a few more ">" between 3 and 5)

There's also the fact that Miguel Prado's entire arc is pretty much universally disliked. Plus, the Skinner wasn't a compelling adversary, either.

4 is probably my favourite (eventhough I think the first 2 are the best if we're talking quality) but upon rewatching there are too many silly storylines (neighbourhoud vandal) but the main villain was so excellent it's all good.

Over Christmas break I watched season 1-4 again and just finished the season 4 finale, just so awesome.

S5 was bad by Dexter standards, no doubt, with many more plot holes than usual (not that that's ever been a particular strength of the show), and the particularly egregious aborted Saint Muerta cult arc. That said, I don't really feel motivated to join the bandwagon curb-stomp that so many others seem to be delighting in, because I actually really liked the A-Story in the season, I thought Julia Stiles was fantastic as Lumen (she is seriously one of the best actresses of her generation), and I like where the season took Deb's character in particular. I think the show realistically has one more good season in it, which if done right could culminate in a Dex vs. Deb that could be truly epic.

Meh. It's just one of those spots where I'm right and I know it. She hasn't been in a role that's ideally showcased her abilities, and she's stayed under the radar of superstardom largely by choice (she does quite a bit of theatre), but she's just one of those actresses that just seems constitutionally incapable of hitting a wrong note.

Much of her best work was done in movies that not many people saw, though, like "O" and "Save the Last Dance".

take someone like Streep, I personally hate her, but she is a very convincing actress.


Basically Julia Stiles was brutal on Dexter, brutal in the Bourne movies, and likable in a few movies when she was younger, but I wouldn't call her a solid actress anymore than I would call Miley Cyrus a good actress.

LOL when I watched this series I thought it looked like Styles but I sooo wanted it to be someone else just cuz of that stupid dancing movie. She wasnt very impressive in anything and annoying in the 10 things movie.

It's her forehead. There's something about it that drives me mad.

LOL at Stiles being one of the best actresses of her generation, I liked her better than most in this season of Dexter, but she is average at best.
