Afaik the other brother got away. I just rewatched some key scenes but they only keep mentioning the brother that got shot, Carlos Fuentes. ^The other one definitely wasn't shot on the spot, though.

I thought it was implied that the other brother was caught after an (offscreen) shooutout with other cops. the Homicide department was under fire because of all the innocent bystanders that were injured, while we only saw the informant and one Fuentes brother killed.

Is it though? I think most people would agree it peaked at S2, and this season has been pretty mediocre wrt to pacing/plotline. They don't really seem to have a decent direction for dexter anymore, and i don't think thats going to improve by dragging it out.

I would be very surprised and disappointed if that plotline just is dropped. Dexter is known for its superb scripts, I can live with the content being mediocre, but the script itself has to be of a high level. But I'm confident that he will still pop up somewhere, messing everything up. It could also set up for Quinn getting killed in a firefight and something else happening with Robocop

yeah was gonna say a while back, i can't be the only one thinking "who?" every time i see his name itt. sorta think that Liddy is an unfortunate name choice after they already used Lundy. meh w/e, he'll always be Robocop to me!
