How would the long trail of blood and the fact that the guy was clearly shot elsewhere fit into Masuka's theory?

Despite that and lots of other stuff I thought was very stupid, I still found this episode far more entertaining than the previous episodes this season.

Masuka: Weird crazy theory, which fwiw is backed up by the history of cling film guy
Dexter: "the blood fits the theory"
Deb: **** me that was a crazy case, but it sure helped the stats that we insta solved it, now to get back to the cultist brothers

The idea that evidence must be collected and the crime scene investigated actually works against the idea that Masuka completely resolved the case with his goofy theory.

Good episode, high intensity imo. Also don't hate Stiles's looks like some here apparently.

It's folly/losing battle trying to justify the scene to people complaining about realism. I thought it was well done and enjoyed it immensely. It was also borderline slapstick and inconsistent with the history of television (or Dexter's) forensics.

Hahah, had to rewatch the Masuka part. Brilliant! Love how he's totally on top of this perv stuff, it's like he's talking from personal experience. And so enthusiastic and not ashamed at all even if he realises ppl might have noticed just that. And the hose, how did he think of that...

Not sure if I want this kind of comedy -- be it intentional or accidental -- in this show, though. The subject demands darkness, suspense and anxiety. I want to be chilled and frightened by this series and its murderers, not amused.

Does the director just accept the first take every scene Stiles is in, or is she really that terrible?

If so, I feel bad for MCH

she is weird. there are moments when she seems fine but also some (throughout this episode in the warehouse) when she sounds like a horrible improv actor trying to be dramatic. i did think this episode was a lot better than last, though, and the best of the season. dexter saying die die before snapping the guy's neck was extremely corny, and i hoped more would happen with weller.

did anyone notice how weird dexter looked when lumen was telling him her story in the bathroom? freaky imo.

The slow-mo auto-erotic mumification guide was so so good.

I thought the ep was ok, as silly as much of it was. I actually physically shuddered when Dexter said "Die Die" before killing the guy, and a couple of other scenes were horrible, but still there was some good stuff.

I thought he said "die time"..

Yeah especially when some guy forced his THREE FINGERS into her.......................... mouth

I'm pleased to find that so many folks don't think that Julia Stiles is a beautiful young woman. This should increase my chances with her enormously.

As for the criticisms of the writing, "A little nonsense now and then..."?

The story feeds on tension, if you can get a little bit in the middle of the season amidst a farce? I'm going to call that a win?

donniccolo,

i hate them!

Don't really understand the love for the latest episode. Sure, it was better than previous ones from this season. But not much.

didn't rewatch but found more blogs/forums discussing it. consensus is "die die." even saw some ****** trying to justify "tonight you die" which is incredible. "die time" isn't nearly that absurd but would be a pretty strange choice in an episode that focuses so much on harrison saying "die die."
11-02-2010 , 05:49 PM
After watching it a few times im pretty convinced it is "die time". I dont care either way though.
11-02-2010 , 07:53 PM
I thought it was painfully obvious he said "die die" when I saw it. It's the sort of thing they think is clever (i.e. the cringe-worthy five mirrors thing they did last year) even though it's just terrible writing.
11-02-2010 , 09:41 PM
The first few episodes were really bad, but after that the show really started growing and the last 3 episodes were great. The last episode actually was on par with season 4, I really liked it. Will it be a love angle between Dexter and Lumen? They are very much alike.
And how the f*ck can anoybody say that Julia Stiles is not hot?
She is gorgeous
