i assume rita was killed off because the actress is now in that show no ordinary family...although i suppose a much smaller role could have been feasible

No, she took the job in No Ordinarily Family because she was written off Dexter. Benz was distraught when she found out her character was going to die.

Just finished watching season 5 and it's definitely the worst season of Dexter imo. It wasn't at all thrilling like all the other seasons where the episodes ended so that you had to watch the next one.

BTW has anyone else noticed how much Deb cries in the show, so tilting. She either is so happy that she cries, she's normal and looks sad or she's sad and cries.

Lol I suck. I almost spent 5 seconds googling it but didn't feel the need. I guess that's why I shouldn't assume!

i'm behind but just breezed through my dvr of dexter, and goddamn was this season MEHHHHHH.

i miss the darkness of the show, it's so light and ****ing outlandish (even more than you'd expect)

sigh, why must every show be strung out for so many seasons beyond it's peak.

NO ONE wants to play like the UK office and just blast out amazing **** and walk away at the top?

Ok not reading this but I am on season 4 a little over halfway through, and based on past dexter seasons, the Trinity Killer is going to be the entire theme of the season. But it pisses me off cause there is one major thing that doesnt coincide.

Lundy always said that the Trinity Killer did his cycle than went to another city, and miami was the only city he visited twice(12 other cities). Deb(who by the way needs to be killed off this show she is so ****nig annoying and all her ****ing psychotic relationships just piss me off) says over 60 deaths linked to the trinity killer. 13x3 = 39(12 cities plus miami twice. Is this just a big mistake by the directors/writers or am i missing something?

Grunching to avoid spoilers - just started watching this show, 2/3 of the way through season 1. Good stuff. Dexter is quite the character. And the ice truck killer being

Spoiler:
Deb's doctor boyfriend... Wow. The same guy who amputates the bodyguard's limbs ends up fitting him with prosthetics.

The next 4 seasons should be a breeze.

I have to admire the S1 spoiler tags in the S5 thread.

Err on the side of caution, my friend.

Another s1 spoiler:

Spoiler:
Dexter is a serial killer

I just didn't want to

Spoiler:
spoil

the first season for anyone out there like me who had just started watching. Although reading this thread would obviously be ill-advised.

What the **** kind of ending to season 4 was that, i understand season finales are supposed to make you want to watch the next season but i was fairly pissed off at the ****ing ending and it ALMOST made me want to give up on the show, it seems liek they are going to ehad in the direction of beating a dead horse really soon and just needed to try and get some interest back?. Was it really necessary?
01-07-2011 , 02:31 AM
I think so.

Now watch season 5 and post your reaction.

This could be good.

wtf if you hated S4 finale you should probably just save your time and give up on the show...S4 finale was awesome and yes it was necessary

+1

S4 finale was excellent.

S5 is something I've convinced myself doesn't exist.

You fail at Dexter. Now watch S5.....

s4 had one of the best finales of any tv show in history wtf
01-07-2011 , 04:53 PM
If he really has that bad of taste and thought the s4 finale was terrible, maybe he'll really like the epic terribad s5 finale.
01-07-2011 , 06:51 PM
I never said the ending was terrible? I was just pissed it happened.

And as a reference to the "ending" I am obv talking rita. Sure I can see how s4 finale was good from a show standpoint, but am I the only one who got pissed off at the ending? I mean through character development you should feel very angry at the ending cause you know thats how dexter feels cause he cant feel sad.

The show itself(after watching first few eps of S5), is slow turning away from the twisted dark comedy into something thats just really depressing, am I the only one who got pissed about that? And the s4 finale was basically the turning point.
