Dexter: season 5 Dexter: season 5

Seriously though. Any shot Lumen gets killed next season?

I mean, Dexter knows she is a murderer. Isn't that enough for him to off her according to the code?

Terrible compared to the rest of the seasons, but the only reason you can even argue Dexter is one of the best shows on TV right now is because this has been one of the worst years for TV shows in recent memory. The writing on the show slipped so much this season that they're just lucky there isn't much better on TV currently (especially with respect to dramas).

Yesterday I was on some **** fan board and got so tilted because everyone was happy how the season ended because it allows the opening for many more seasons. That was their reason. They want more seasons. I hope Showtime doesn't realise how retarted their average viewer has become.

i know someone else did that eariler, but I'm expanding.

there are two options for chase

1. put the tractor in a spot where dexter will hit it 100% of the time
2. put the tractor in a spot where he might hit it

scenario 1:

dexter hits it, chase captures him after waiting in the bushes (also he doesn't know when dexter is arriving, if ever, so he might be outside for 3 days)

Scenario 2:

dexter hits the T sometimes, but sometimes he just drives right by, then chase has to run back to the camp so dexter doesn't just take lumen and get in the car and drive away.

so viewing these scenarios, if it's possible for dexter to get by if he's playing attention the plan is lol

if dexter is 100% going to hit it, then why didn't Detective Deborah Morgan hit the same tractor 30 minutes later?

also, if she somehow swerves the tractor, didn't she at least see it and the red car that's flipped on it's side. what ****ing ******ed cop doesn't call for back up at that point.

there are so many spots that the writers just ignore so dexter gets away it makes it unbearable to watch. so ridiculous
i look at it this way - even tho there were moments during '24' that made me upset, overall it was 8 seasons of wayyyyy above average tv. aamof, i will put '24's complete package up against anything. 8 years of 24 eps nearly an hour long? gtfo how hard that is to do. obv there will be downtimes but there weren't nearly as many as you'd think.

dexter could be similar - some downtimes (which feel worse when they are the present) but ultimately, the entire 6-7 season package will still be very very solid compared to its peers.

hip - you beat me to it above - i wasn't sure how moving a tractor in a remote camp you own under a former name was exactly a "plan". oh well.

also, some of you don't seem to realize that the john lithgows and julia stiles and peter wellers are guest stars that are only meant for 1 season. weller wasn't just some fill in - him being in the show was a big deal.

what is the consensus as to what quinn means telling dex "thanks." ?? he knows dex fudged the blood work - but does he know the whole truth about dex? if so maybe S6 pitts Dex vs Deb w/ Quinn awkwardly inbetween.

that's hilarious. how funny would it be if he was in minnesota at the start of season six saying that in his inner monologue "i know she killed two people and she is outside of the law"

but seriously though, we will never see Lumen again.

you should email that idea to the dexter writing team

Lumen was invisible this episode just like in the first two Bourne movies.

no dude, this season was terrible overall, not just terrible for dexter

and no, dexter IS NOT one of the best shows on tv anymore, it's not even close

Basically, Dexter the show has these strong points

1. MC Hall's acting
2. Masuka
3. Staring guest actors (liddy, lundy, lithgow, rudy)

feel free to tell me what else about this show doesn't suck right now

here's my logic:

1. Quinn is a detective at a major police departmant
2. Detectives are usually pretty deductive
3. Quinn knows that liddy was watching dexter
4. Quinn knows liddy thinks dexter is up to something shady, maybe murder
5. Quinn saw dexter/lumen dumping something into the ocean
6. Liddy calls quinn and says I need you because it's going down
7. Liddy dies
8. Batista says "whomever he was watching is the killer"

doesn't take a genius to connect the dots, so yea Quinn knows

More weird news - looks like Hall and Carpenter divorced because Hall was cheating with Julia Stiles.

it really hit home how bad it was when -

dexter looking at the reflection... smashes plate,

and the only thoughts running through my head were from a joke ITT,

hoping that the ensuing dialogue would be "Lumen, I won't kill anymore, I NEED to be with you"

and season 6 is a Sitcom

imo if you're boning your brother you can't be mad if you bone other people, because if you're not known to publicly bone people people could suspect you being a serial killer or something else weird.
just my opinion though

Yeah I figured he'd promise to take out his aggression on plates instead of people in order to make things work with Lumen, and then S6 would be about the struggle to keep enough plates on hand, with the local kitchenware stores getting suspicious that nobody could possibly need that many plates.

If it's anything like S5, it will be.

I really like where your head is at, but there has to be a better variation on the boning your sister joke. cheers.

i dont understand the S5>S3 at ALL
12-15-2010 , 10:23 PM
S5 was a better season than Season 3 that's what the > means.

like 2>1

2 is great than 1 because its a large number.

1, 4, 2, 3, 5

This season was pretty damn weaksauce imo...no cliff hangers, nothing really happened in about half the episodes this season.

Who even remembers the plot of the first 3-4 episodes? There was that drug dealer debacle which turned out completely pointless other than filler.
12-15-2010 , 11:40 PM
i wanna know what happened to Laguerta Junior, will she be back for the next season? She made detective, then was never seen again lol

This subplot resulted in Deb killing someone, possibly setting her up for enough soulsearching to change her behaviour just in time for the plastic barrier shootout.

your thoughts, constantine?
12-16-2010 , 11:37 PM
Awful beginning of the season, then it started to get good then the ending was terrible. Dexter sucks.

I don't think Quinn sees Dexter as a serial killer/BHB, just as the guy who helped Lumen get her vengeance to help cope with Rita. I could easily see the writers no longer bring up the Kyle Butler stuff anymore.
