ok i havent read this whole thread but i just want to vent some frustration about this season.... worst season of dexter ever!!

looked like it was going to be a great season at the start but the ending was just horrible!! i was almost 100% certain dexter was going to be caught out this season but instead the writers pulled a Lost and forget what's already happened

- quin is a total ******. he knows liddy was investigating dexter and liddy was killed by the person liddy was investigating... ?!?!?!? WTF ?!?!?!?!? put 2 and 2 together please!

- deb fires a bullet near the vigilantes.. no ballistics report then?

- no blood or fingerprints or anything in the car that dexter crashed?

- random killed in toilet. no preperation or clean-up yet no evidence left to trace to dexter?? yeah BS! same with liddy - dexter didn't touch any part of the van at all while he was tied up??

- trinitys family and everyone at the construction volunteering thingy know who kyle butler is. FBI are investigating but then that plot fades away for no reason

- dexter keeps making excuses saying he's at work to everyone when he's out doing his thing and NOBODY EVER REALISES HE'S LYING ?!?!? "hey where were you last night?" "working" "no you weren't, i was working and you weren't there..."

- dexter steals the 13th dvd of lumen and nobody realises? they know there are 13 victims and have photos of the 12 but never mention the missing (scratched) 13th?

theres heaps more bullsh*t like this but im too high to write anymore. stupid season and if dexter doesn't get found out in the first few episodes of next season, i'm over this show

most of your complaints are dumb jakey. first one. quinn knows dexter did it but he loves deb. he knows if he sends dexter to jail he cant be with her. deb firing a bullet is a bit sloppy. the car crash is sloppy as well. the random killed was dexter being sloppy but was to have dexter show emotion. i dont care about that coming back. the liddy truck kill dexter went to do blood report. sooooooooo. trinitys family might not be done with.

thats because the writers took the easy way out at every turn.

1. Deb, there is no way she doesn't arrest those two. They had it set up, like you knew she was sympathetic, and then she's like, **** you guys, i'm a cop and this isn't cool. So they had it set up how the character would act in real life; then they decided to make that character go against her own morals so dexter doesn't get caught.

seriously, having Deb see the two of them and still leaving would have made this show a lot better than it is now.

2. Oh Quinn, that blood that dexter tested wasn't Liddy's, you all safe now.

really? for real?

2a. You don't think a case this high profile they wouldn't recheck that?
2b. The blood not being liddy's doesn't change the fact that Quinn was acting strange as **** and everyone knew it. So they just let that go? **** no they don't, there is a murdered cop. They would go balls to the wall to find the killer of a murdered cop, just like they went balls to the wall to find the killer of a cops wife..... oh wait.

so basically they could have gone with Quinn figuring it out and telling someone, or Deb finding them out, and they chose to do nothing.

Then Lumen leaves, great. Dexter looked like he was going to kill her. At least that would make sense, since he's a psychopath, and she is seriously ****ing with his life. And she still knows the secret, if she can't kill with him anymore, maybe she feels guilty in the future about what she did. she calls Metro miami "oh by the way guys, Dexter is a murderer and the bay harbor butcher and killed jordan chase."

the finale was garbage, the choices the writers made were weak and the easy road, and the show took a turn for the worse by making everything one big happy ending. Note to writers, the season doesn't have to be a neat package that starts and ends in the same place.

example, last season they made the hard choice, that was fantastic, this year, absolute garbage.

not even garbage, because it's entertaining, but it's drivel

edit, read the thread more, and this exactly

LOL at the resolution of the Quinn story line. Numerous cell phone calls from Liddy to Quinn right before the murder. Quinn's name on all of the surveillance equipment requisitions. Quinn's f'ing FINGERPRINTS on the outside of the van where Liddy's body was found. Quinn offering no explanation whatsoever. Oh, the three specs of blood on your shoes don't match the victim? You're free to go.

Also, how about this guys -- remember how the Department totally freaked the f*ck out when Laguerta and Batista started dating? All of a sudden everyone was going to get transferred or fired and all kinds of sh*t was going to go down so Laguerta had to insta-marry Batista to save their jobs. Because the only way two cops can bang each other is if they're married.

But now Quinn and Deb just openly date in front of everyone and it's all good? Is there some "if we're partners it's cool" clause that the Captain forgot to tell us?

laguerta is his boss, so that's a different scenario than quinn/deb

any chance those pictures even exist anymore? you think dexter is just gonna let quinn keep the copies when dexter destroyed the originals?

no way

how would you guys write the scenes after jordan has lumen? how would you finish that interaction? how they meet again and how dexter defeats him?

There was a whole folder full of pics of Dex/Lumen dumping a body off his boat in Quinn's apartment. Unless you want to assume that he went back to Quinn's apartment at some point and we were just never shown or told, then the folder is still in Quinn's drawer. Dexter left it there on purpose because he didn't wanna tip off Quinn that theyd been there

I was thinking that was the first place he was headed once he saw Quinn get detained, to go steal those photos. They don't prove anything but if the cops searched the apartment and found them Dex/Lumen would be caught up in Quinn's investigation, and their relationship would be heavily scrutinized

With all of the evidence stacking up against Quinn I would have thought the cops would be searching Quinn's apartment asap, and would have found the photos

that's the awesome thing about his job, it won't be unusual to have evidence of him at pretty much every crime scene where there is blood.

a lot of the complaints in this thread are hilarious, especially in context with the overdone complaint in the Boardwalk Empire thread: "why do they have to spell everything out?" "do they really have to hit us in the face like that?" Yet you guys want to see and hear the minutia of Quinn being let off or you feel that a bullet being shot through a wall that's old and rotting needs to be resolved. Also they wouldn't trust their trusted blood guy with the bloodwork? Really?

If/when she finds out, it'll be at the end of the series.
That's incredibly boring. What does that even accomplish? If she doesn't find out with 1+ seasons left in the show, there's no point in her finding out at all. How she deals with knowing her brother is a serial killer is like 99% of the intrigue in that storyline.

omg you're the bay harbor butcher!

the door seems to be open to kill off Deb, fingers crossed!

I enjoyed the finale and the season, but you would think the guy that hired Liddy, whose name was used to check out the surveillance rig that Liddy was murdered in, who exchanged a bunch of voice mails with Liddy, would at least be held so they could investigate him a bit as long as he was not cooperating with the murder investigation.

I suppose you could call that a hilarious little nit.

sup bro? disagree here. maybe prior to season 5 that's what deb would do, but given the crime here and the stuff she has said to dexter throughout the season, i think her reaction is realistic. remember one episode she specifically said that she could think of a person who would want to kill these people, and it was herself. also obv the ITK near death experience and more recently watching and re-watching these girls being brutally raped.

also brian, calling the quinn/liddy thing minutia is awesome. the stuff in boardwalk empire is like
Spoiler:
"oh you'll never fit in with the italians!!" /cut to italians playing cards, speaking italian and jimmy standing there looking left out.

seems incredible to compare that to quinn seemingly getting off cleanly despite everything other than a speck of blood on his shoes looking suspicious. also, dexter is not only someone at the same office but the brother of quinn's live-in girlfriend.

Here's to hoping the love lost between Hall and Carpenter transfers to their on-screen characters next season and it's going to be the most epic television ever!

Oh and I'm so close to deleting all the Dexter s5 files on my laptop but can't quite pull the plug, at least not yet. I need a support group or some kind of encouragement. I need to get this terrible s**t out of my system!

I've not been reading this thread until now, cos I just watched the whole of the season over the last couple of weeks, cos I hate waiting a week for the next episode.

Seems like there is a lot of disappointment here. I thought it was an alright series - not as good as some of the previous ones but still hugely entertaining compared to a lot of drivel that's on the TV. imo 2>>1>4>5>>>3.

As for the plot holes everyone is ranting about, I think a lot of them may be cleared up in Season 6, particularly the Quinn/Liddy saga.

My worry is that I heard that the two main writers are not going to be involved in the next season....hope the show doesn't go downhill.
