Dexter: season 5 Dexter: season 5

They used a house nearby that had a for sale sign out front.
11-29-2010 , 12:54 AM
How are you guys not sure? They panned directly to the house next door with the for sale sign for absolutely no reason right before they showed them in the room.
11-29-2010 , 12:56 AM
Gah, I can't believe they slept together. Its more realistic that Dexter would do it than Lumen.

Dexter's emotions are all whacked as it is, he'd maybe move on quick.

But Lumen just was brutally raped over and over again and she seriously is good to hook up with someone already? Just felt wrong.

SOOOOO glad that Jordan was using that other blond chick. I was thinking that he knew Dexter had the blood and it'd be ridiculous for Lumen/Dexter to be able to just go and talk to her like that.

i did want dexter to stop her, and yeah it felt a little wrong, but if there's any thing that could possibly speed up recovery, maybe it is meeting someone like dexter, helping him find and kill your rapists, and finally killing one yourself.

i wanted more liddy at the end. last two episodes have been an epic turnaround.

wait, was this the season finale

NVM, while I was watching it I thought it was the finale and ended up pretty pissed
11-29-2010 , 02:08 AM
poh-leece work

I thought they would milk the love-affair-without-having-sex thing for the whole season, so I'm surprised. I suppose Dexter in a relationship with someone who knows who he is is new, despite Lila.

I'm along for the ride and enjoying it. I especially liked the scenes where Lumen is looking for encouragement with her clothes. I'm a Stiles fan, definitely.

I don't mind Dexter and Lumen hooking up. Not that surprising. I'm just glad that they waited. Had they thrown it in a few episodes ago, it'd been pretty ******ed. Instead it's just "Oh, OK. Cool."

I dug it. I really want to know what the hell is going on and can't wait till the finale. This season at this point seems to have a lot more side plots (which are really just the main plots) that aren't annoying. The only annoying one is the LaGuerta/Angel one, but that seems to be set aside. A few seconds here and there but no lengthy scenes. The rest of them are cool. It didn't start out that way, but I'm glad its where is is now.

I have an idea how the season is going to end, but I don't know how it will get there. The Jordan character situation is getting weirder and I have no idea what the story is there though.

so have they just dropped the santa muerte thing

and yes, the "dexter and lumen were actually in the house next door" reveal was vintage prison break. i lost count of how many times pb pulled that exact trick.

Wow. I completely forgot about that. I remember the hot new chick cop, but that was it for that one.

Holy **** balls. Most of 2+2 complains when things are just outright stated instead of letting the viewer figure out simple ****, but then you realize they ****ing have to because some idiots can't figure out where the kill room is even after they make it completely god damn obvious without dialogue, or ***** start questioning whether it was actually Trinity that killed Rita. Please castrate yourselves people. You do not need to procreate.

Seriously.

Would you all rather Lumen had said "gee dexter, this empty house that's next door to that guy makes for a pretty sweet kill room, no cops over here lol!"

The last two eps of the season should be epic.

You've got Dexter/Lumen going after Chase, Chase covering his tracks by trying to get Dexter/Lumen caught, Deb getting her detective on, and Liddy getting his detective on. All four threads on a collision course for total win.
11-29-2010 , 05:23 AM
Quinn is in middle of a couple of those too. No doubt it'll make up for the slow start.

I also read something about the finale. Nothing specific but it did say

Spoiler:
The finale this season will rival last seasons. Not sure if I believe that, or if it's really even possible, but if it even gets close it will be pretty intense.
11-29-2010 , 05:42 AM
wtf is going to happen with Robocop? lovin his storyline and his performance.

Deb is becoming likable, maybe they will find a way to **** that up.
11-29-2010 , 05:46 AM
With ten minutes left, I was literally on the edge of my seat and pumped for the direction they were headed. With one minute left, I had my head buried in my hands, disgusted with the way everything turned out. Wasn't the whole point of killing off Rita to get away from the wife/girlfriend crap? I get that Lumen is different because she knows about the Dark Passenger, but it's still disappointing. I was really hoping for the "Deb figures out he's a serial killer" angle instead of this.

I don't watch the previews, so I'm wondering what everyone was freaking out about last week. Did they show the Dex vs. Jordan showdown, or was it more focused on Robocop discovering the kill?
11-29-2010 , 05:48 AM
no way in hell i pull it off but im gonna try to wait 2 weeks and watch both together cuz the anxiety i have right now is painful. i just want to see it all unfold!

there are two interesting clips on showtime's website...for those that enjoy a tease.

the lol moment of the ep for me was dexter scratching the fake 13th cd with his keys and everybody accepting it without question. but who cares this is awesome
11-29-2010 , 05:48 AM
For a split second I had hopes that Deb/Quinn discover Dexter and they go all "Boondock Saints" with this show. Ok maybe not the best choice of comparison, you get the idea lol

The preview from last week showed brief flashes from the next two episodes also.

*barf*

note that I called this incredibly sappy crap many episodes ago because of how clumsily they were signaling it...

but this episode just made it a whole bunch worse. gloves in wrapping paper? tying Lumen's jewelry around her neck like this was some tween romance? disgusting.

I knew it was coming the entire time though, this show always takes the easy way out.

That said, I liked the ep. Although if this season ends with everything wrapped up neatly with a nice little ribbon and there isn't a sick cliffhanger like Deb finding out what Dexter does through her investigation, this whole season will have been for nothing imo.

STILL STILES
11-29-2010 , 07:33 AM
Fantasizing about unattainable chicks doesn't mean you should excuse horrible, egregious, writing goofyballer. I like Stiles fine, when she's properly used.
11-29-2010 , 09:35 AM
Dexter has never made a kill inside the guys house I think, so it really wasn't a surprise for me. The episode hyped up to be more than it actually was, but it was still a great episode imo. All scenes with Chase were epic, I really hope in some weird way Liddy meets Chase.

Are you serious with this? How did this whole season's main story line start?
