I love deadwood and I can understand the actors being attached etc, but come on, breaking down crying?

it's a TV show guys let's get a little perspective.

Ever do any theater, RBK?

There's a lot of bonding, nothing like typical coworker interactions...and everyone who worked on this show seems to agree that it was really extreme on this set, unlike any other they'd ever worked.

Today's WEB tweet says there's lots of hugging at work, everywhere he looks. Not handshake/shoulder-bumps, but full-out bear hugs....and the champion hugger, Leon Rippey (Tom Nuttall), isn't even there yet!

Well he does some acting as a crusty curmudgeon everyday on 2+2,

does that count?

Yeah, I was gonna mention that too... but it made me sad.

Reminds me of every conversation I've had recently about the record lottery jackpots. Whenever I point out the long history of big winners losing their friends and families and wishing they'd never won...

... every poker player sees that as a bonus, not a problem.

It's so sad.

not surprised at all at the actors crying at the table read. it was probably the best job they ever had in their life. and not only do you bond with the other actors, but you bond with your character and the writing and the set and the costumes

As much as I cant wait to see this, I would be surprised if it crushed at the box office.

Lets see what marketing has up their sleeve.

I was under the impression it was just for HBO. I'd be shocked to see this be a theatrical release.

Honestly, this sounds really bad. The time for this to happen was 10 years ago when they could've picked up right where they left off. Maybe it's just bad wording, but this makes it sound like some goofy 10-year high school reunion of a large, disparate group of people who would've had no business with each other by this point, to "celebrate" something none of them ever wanted.

WARNING: If you see a headline that says "HBO might still cancel the DW movie", DO NOT CLICK IT. It is click-bait. The writer cites absolutely nothing to support that headline. He concludes, "Well, it could happen! It happens to shows and movies all the time!"

I've never been so angry at being duped into clicking. Screw that guy. Don't click it!

If you're the type who thinks "Scenes from next week's episode" are too spoilery (I've recently been converted to this thinking), don't open this. It's super vague, may not even be anything....but I think it is. You might draw a different conclusion.

(I'm still struggling to embed tweets on 2+2, forgive me if this doesn't work.)

Spoiler:

Just saw a pic of Olyphant in costume. He looks more like the real Seth Bullock now, and nothing like Olyphant, lol. Here's a pic of the old guy:

Can't wait for the movie. Rewatching Deadwood currently right now with the gf, holds up amazingly of course. Wouldn't know it was made 12+ years ago.

I don't have very good luck posting tweets, but if this works, you'll see about 1.5 seconds from the film in this promo vid, about :26 in.

I started this show last night. Knowing it was cancelled had kept me from watching it despite everyone telling me how great it was. Two episodes in and I want to slap myself for waiting this long. The dialogue is razor sharp and if you had told me the show was created this year, I'd believe you. It doesn't come off as a decade old show.
