Great show, also worried I won't remember who anyone is by the time s2 comes around but can probably find like a 15 min recap on youtube and be set.

Most of them sucked. I'm half way there anyway. Season 1 is even better on the rewatch. It should actually be mandatory. There's no way you can pay attention to everything the first time around.

I had to watch two s1 recap videos before I felt I had a solid reminder of what happened. Season 2 was wild. This show is amazing, somehow Season 2 managed to even top Season 1. Amazing how they are able to tell this story over so many timelines so well and tie it all together.

Yeah I also rewatched S1 just last week; with the multiple story lines over multiple time lines and the complicated (blood) relationships it is almost mandatory. I was on top of everything at the start of S2, and I still had a hard time to get some of the stuff lol.

I thought this season had some masterful time travel storytelling. Especially...

Spoiler:

Warning: this is a serious spoiler!
Spoiler:
When Jonas went back to prevent his father's suicide, and in their conversation, they actually tell each other what to do. As a seasoned consumer of time travel fiction, I kinda expected that Jonas would somehow cause the suicide. But that this sets also in motion bringing Mikkel back to 1986 by Jonas himself was unexpected.

Here he goes trying to cut one crucial link of this intricate time loop, but instead secures it and establishes another link. I find it quite elegant, since with what we knew at the time, Mikkel stumbling through the caves and coming out in 86 made kinda sense, but Jonas actively bringing him there makes even more sense now. I wonder if we get stuff like this also in S3, or if they go full multiverse now.

Small theory:
Spoiler:
I think there's a chance that Adam isn't Jonas; the scars could be fake imo and he just wants to manipulate Jonas. I'm not sold on this 100% myself, but if that turned out to be true my money is on Bartosz, Aleksander, and maybe Clausen.

Small nitpick:
Spoiler:
I don't think you can jackhammer **** up in a radioactive area of a nuclear power plant with a simple search warrant. At least I hope so.

At what point can we discuss without spoilers? Is there a protocol for streaming shows?

Re: your 'small theory'

Spoiler:
I considered this as well, but I think it probably isn't Bartosz - I think we were meant to believe that a future version of Bartosz was killed with the young version of Noah in the 1920s constructing the original cave tunnel

Episode 1 thing I noticed that is likely significant given the finale:
Spoiler:
In 2052 we see present day Jonas walking through Winden and going to his old house, finding the calendar with the 27th circled and X's through all dates up to the 20th, in a later scene we see Hannah on the same calendar make an X on the 21st. Is the future Jonas hopped to in 2052 actually a different reality?

OMG you're right - that is obv very significant! Mind blown! Could also have implications on the small theory btw.

Can someone recommend me a good recap on youtube. So far I have seen 2 and still not grasping much. I loved season 1 but don't have the time to rewatch it.

So season 2 was amazing. Even better than season 1.
Might be top 10 tv shows of all time for me.

Very refreshing after GOT and black mirror.

Spoiler:
I thought the same thing. Just doesn't seem like his nature to do the things Adam and Noah did. They have also gone both ways on who is evil, Adam or White Witch/Claudia so who knows who is good and who is evil. Probably not completely black and white on that anyway, both may be thinking they are saving the world.

Did anyone here read about Dark on reddit? Holy ****ing shieeeet!

I thought I understood most of it, when I watched it, but boy was I wrong.
This show is genius. Like Twin-Peaks-level-genius.

I'm just watching S1 so getting to this show late. but beyond the cinematography, writing, acting, and soundtrack, which are all great, the casting of people who look like younger/older versions of other actors in this show is beyond belief.

Had the same thought. It’s especially amazing given pretty much everyone acts their part very well.

I was sure 1987 Urlich was played by the same actor with make up on but it was a different actor.

LOL I just got to this part and I was like, no, you gotta be wrong, it's definitely just the 50 year old actor with old man makeup. You must've made a mistake. This one is beyond even the powers of their casting, it's the same face.

****ing incredible.

It must have been freaky as hell on set constantly seeing older and younger versions of yourself running around getting coffee and ****.

Just finished S2 - this show has been thoroughly entertaining. Confusing at some points with different actors/time frames but they give plenty of clues to figure it out (reading episode recaps on Reddit will help - just don't read ahead).

Looking forward to the final season, I just hope the writers can neatly wrap up all the story lines they have created. 30+ characters across 5 timelines makes for quite a jumble.

Almost done with S1 and it's great, the episode where Jonas goes back in time was awesome.
