What's surprising to me is Larry doesn't seem like the kind of guy to make another season just for the hell of it. Why come out of retirement unless you have some good ideas?

I think he probably had enough good ideas or ideas nagging him that he thought another season would be worth it and professionally/creatively fulfilling. Unfortunately, while a lot of the premises have been promising, the execution has been lacking compared to previous seasons. Everything feels slightly forced and a bit sloppy or phoned in.

I'm still enjoying it enough to keep watching, but it's definitely been a letdown of a season so far.

Honestly that's how I feel reading the praise for the episode on here; I don't get it. I mean, it was good, but "absurdly good?" Uh, have you watched the early seasons? It was nowhere near the show at its peak level. It's not like I want to be "whining" about it.

penis touching the water and funkhauser saying his nephew was the son he never had "but my daughter is transitioning" were both all-time great lines

doctor switching it around with the patient-doctor privilege also brilliant

Disappointment was inevitable for many due to how great a show it is, how long it's been since the most recent season aired, and the great magnifier that is the internet. My wife and I fell into that trap in watching E1 (which, in fairness, probably was the "worst" of the four that have aired thus far), but realized it in hindsight, and have enjoyed each one since then.

We're blessed just to be watching this - sit back and enjoy the treat that it is.

The renactment scene was so telegraphed. Would have worked much better if they cut the earlier line about him not having PTSD.

i liked when larry and the soldier were on the ground dazed from the shelling, and larry was yelling **** like, "how's your cat?"

I thought a lot of the scenes were too forced/not organic, but I laughed a lot. Loved when the soldier started suffering from ptsd and can't wait to see the fallout w/ Suzie.

Larry David is so fragile. Mail lady throws some letters at him and it knocks him down lol.

Love Lewis. My favorite Lewis scene is when Larry is giving him a kidney but Lewis won't let him borrow his putter.

Best of the season. I similarly lost it when Larry caught Takahashi in the car. Curb somehow sets up these jokes that seem so obvious in retrospect, but take you by surprise in the moment.

Yea and the funniest was he was telling the mail lady "Don't be a stickler. No one likes a stickler." He's the biggest stickler ever!

I'm less than thrilled with this season, but this last episode was the best so far.

I asked my go-to black friend if he knew the term "lampin'" - he said it was slang from the 90s!

That episode had potential but it ended up being one of the worst episodes I can ever remember.

yeah, this episode had some funny bits but lost the CYE form. It would have been funnier for example if a character from the rest of the show was writing on Larry's call as opposed to a new character out of the blue. And the woman with the bladder condition never really went anywhere.
