Apatow-produced show on HBO about comedians = could be really good IMO. I know virtually nothing about the cast, but trailer seemed like it has potential.

Any show with Dave Attell in it I'll watch, but I'm a little skeptical. Let's see what they got.

I've never found Pete Holmes very funny, but will definitely give it a go anyway.

a reminder this starts tonight. critics have seen 6 episodes or so and like it. i'm not a fan of reading those reviews though due to spoilers.

I'm down mostly because it's HBO. I like so many aspects, but if it were on a regular network, I doubt I'd give it a shot.

I really enjoyed the first ep

I also enjoyed the first ep of Vinyl so I may not be a reliable barometer here

I always mildly enjoyed Pete Holmes on podcasts and whatnot (obviously his Badman is incredible). But I was blown away at how good his standup was when I finally caught some of it. He has great stage presence is a creative comedy writer.

Thought the show was pretty solid. Definitely LOL'd a few times.

Really liked the 1st ep, 2nd was just ok.

Hopefully Artie Lange isn't on all season... He's only good in small doses imo

In the current "media on-demand" landscape I'm surprised people still evaluate serialized shows on an episode to episode basis (especially on a 30 min show). I can see doing this with 'Louie' since every episode is essentially standalone but not with a story that appears to have a beginning and an end.

Finally managed to watch both eps. I thought ep 1 was meh but ep 2 was pretty decent. Overall I'm slightly underwhelmed, I'll watch but I'm not really loving it for some reason. This is how I seem to feel about a bunch of Apatow stuff tho, I somewhat like almost all of it but consider very little of what he does really great.

I am 2.5 episodes in and the show is pretty bad. I don't know if I can make it through this third episode.

Yeah ep3 was really bad. I assume this show must pick up at least a little bit at some point, so far it's significantly worse than Girls or Love.

I liked it and TJ's a guy I've never been a huge fan of or anything, but he was well used here.

The art teacher cracked me up again.

I nearly gave up on the show, but the last couple of episodes have finally been a bit better. I still think it's been quite underwhelming and I'm on the verge of quitting, but I'll keep watching for now.

Didn't really like the Parents ep... only good part was the mom liking the hack.

I thought the 'Barking' episode was terrible. The directing and camera work was atrocious. There are tons of Youtube channels with better production quality. The 3 comedians at the club were awful actors (especially the Indian girl).

The parents episode was a lot better but the ex-wife losing her **** and spilling the beans made no sense. She had all of the information that was presented at dinner beforehand (knows Pete and his mom have a weirdly close relationship and that the mom is passive agressive). So why would she flip out and tell the parents about the divorce? Didn't buy and took me out of the show.

This show seems really amateurish and makes me wonder if Judd Apatow is just super overrated. Maybe his successes were more a product of his supporting cast rather than his personal contribution.

And is Hannibal Burress really revered that much in the comedy world? I'm very in to stand up and was confused by that. He's very good but he's not playing stadiums or anything.

Her telling the parents made perfect sense and was totally believable.
