I'm in agreement but........

Spoiler:
Season 5, the current season, really was quite terrible overall. At this point the series is almost making a joke out of itself and while I understand the whole point was to pit Daniel against Silver in the end of season 5 the series has run it's course at this point. I'm assuming the final season sets up some sort of bloodsport like final tourney between Miyagi Do and Cobra Kai where Kreese joins up with that asian sensei but at this point everything is so far past believable that it's just run it's course in my opinion and while I still enjoy the flashbacks and fall outs, etc from the main characters they are just milking the real fans of the originals at this point. I don't think anyone could have watched season 5 and honestly said it was any good outside of getting the old characters all in action in the season. As a fan of the originals I did enjoy Chosen's drunk dial in the final episode but overall they really made a joke of it all. Still fun I guess but now at this point it's so unbelievable to even actually care about anything going forward for the most part.

All that said the Chosen and Mike Barnes scenes were still quite fun overall. I think at the very least it highlights what classics the three original movies were to the real fans. I like the way this series has progressed overall and I think they probably never planned much past a few seasons. Now they are struggling to find any real plot outside of the viewers searching to care for those original characters and while the new characters are fun in some ways they've tried so very hard to make it about the original characters and it's just falling a bit flat for me at this point. I'll still watch season 6 but hopefully they find a end to this all at this point.

Agreed

Spoiler:
Season 4 was a drag for me until Johnny and Daniel had their match and they KO’d each other. That got me on board for the rest of the season. This season didn’t have one of those moments. I guess the finale kind of did but the whole Creese thing soiled it. It was basically eyes rolling and head shaking over and over and waiting for it to end for 10 episodes.

Ya know what we’ve yet to see? Aside from Hilary Swank?

The nose tweak from Part 2. That’ll be the final scene after the final fight in the series finale. I’d bet the house on it lol

Very surprised there was no payoff to something that was foreshadowed.

Spoiler:
Silver continually talking about legacy. Silver runs into Johnny and Carmen at a hospital. Silver says "I'm meant to die on the battlefield".

I thought it was clear they were building up to a "he's dying of whatever and Cobra Kai will be his legacy" type deal. Still do. They aren't exactly subtle with their foreshadowing (eg, when they showed Kreese staring at the Dr using her badge for 5 seconds).

The problem with the season; both Silver and the woman sensei both are just comically evil without any real driving motivation other than "we have to win because winning"; as fun as Silver is as a camp villain, I don't know that the fun sustains for a 10 episode season.

They touch on it briefly with the woman about how her goal is to make her father's karate accepted, but the craving of that acceptance doesn't seem to be in line with her whole "I don't care what others think" vibe. Silver I guess is supposed to be a Hank Scorpio like villain, but if he's actually dying, maybe his crazy drive, desire to pass things down, and lack of concern for protecting his real life from this karate feud makes sense.

Also, frankly, the whole CK dojo ditching Silver just because he paid the ref didn't really ring that true for me. Nitpick: the youtube clip they uploaded was like 30 seconds long. It wouldn't take 10 minutes to upload.

Finished watching yesterday. Total trainwreck? Not quite. Sputtering? Definitely.

Spoiler:
I think the kids did okay. Their acting has improved, although for some - cough, cough, Robbie, cough, cough - that isn't saying much.

The Mexico trip, the Barnes arc, the woman sensei, the Larusso marital friction, the Robin Lively call back, Chozen sticking around the entire season, Daniel's son going from getting swirlied in the mall to holding his own during a karate melee within the span of a couple of episodes, the pregnancy. All ranged from SMH to just plain bad, and those were just the tip of the iceberg.

I also felt like they downticked the good natured, clever humor too much and upped the swearing and violence. Part of what made this show great was mining stuff for humor in non-obvious ways. Here instead we get low hanging fruit of Johnny failing as a gig worker. And the last episode had blood everywhere, including a shot of a guy getting his finger cut off for zero reason whatsoever not to mention, in the previous episode, several shots of Tori's badly bloodied hand, plus, for the season as a whole, more F bombs than I'm guessing were in the previous four seasons combined.

And the ending with Creese? So he does this without knowing he's going to be cleared, with his subsequent plan being what exactly? I guess the way they make it work is they look the other way on his escape as by then he was wrongfully imprisoned, which raises the question of why have the scene at all? Is it to show Creese hasn't lost his fastball, and still is - mustache twirl - evil?

I'll keep watching another season, but that might be it for me.

I liked the season overall, though it really has become outlandish / over-the-top.

Regarding:

Spoiler:
Blood everywhere in the final episode - was a bit disappointed by this. Was hoping to have my younger kids watch this show sometime soon, but each season became more PG-13ish. Definitely more than the movies. I sound old.

This show got too silly and over-the-top for me by the end of S2 (although I really enjoyed the ride up until then). More power to y'all that have been able to stick with it this whole time.

Spoiler:
Daniel's son getting the swirly in the dirty toilet was the second most uncomfortable thing Ive seen on TV this year behind a certain scene from The Boys related to The Deep and a special meal. I was surprised it wasn't a bigger point - like...there's a lot of talk about kids today being special snowflakes who get traumatized if they're not in their safe space, but that happening would be legitimately traumatic, and he just kind of shakes it off "oh they call me shithead now". I expected him to come in, sopping wet, and Daniel to absolutely lose it.

Hilary Swank would be an obvious addition for season 6 but I doubt she fits the budget or would even be interested. Maybe they try Dutch again but apparently Chad McQueen hasn’t been interested so far.

I think they will end the show with season 6 and do a couple spin-offs after that, potentially starting with a Mr Miyagi origin story.

Spoiler:
The Kreese prison break might make sense if they want to take the show on the road for the Sekai Takai. Really hope Silver doesn’t play a meaningful role going forward.

I expected season 5 to suck....probably because I saw some of what was posted here since spoiler tags don't really work. I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't too high on episode 1, but after that this was probably my favorite season yet. Although, that is hard for me to say since, like others ITT, I have mostly forgotten previous seasons.

Whoever created this show is a freaking genius. So many great characters. Even the tertiary ones are interesting. Music choice is always spot on, and somehow they keep coming up with great story lines. Action is of course awesome. It's mind blowing to me that they can make a family-friendly show so good.

I always wondered what would happen if Johnny Lawrence fought former UFC Champion Tyron Woodley. I never dreamt that the fight would end like that

Spoiler:
with Tyron getting his finger cut off!
Makes perfect sense though. Also, liked seeing UFC fighter Eryk Anders make an appearance (albeit, isn't that considered brownface? Ehh, Cobra Kai seems to push the boundaries of political incorrectness).

BTW, in episode 2 they listed Erik Estrada in the credits. I previously looked on IMDB and it was credited to THE Erik Estrada. So I looked all over the episode for him, but long story short IMDB has now corrected there mistake and the actor was actually Erik Estrada Loaiza, smh.

That's really not true at all. It would depend on the video codec that was used and the internet speed.

You should be making your kids watch it just because of Tory's juggs alone. In the final episode i realized those things are like the size of my head. If I was President this show should would be mandatory watching in middle schools across the country.

Those are probably old juggs. Maybe she was preggo at the end of the season or something. Who knows, but they were monstrous for a high school student.

You realize that she’s in her mid 20’s and they can make stuff look as big as they want to on TV?

She’s been on TV since she was a child and has a very active Insta so it shouldn’t be too difficult to see how she looks outside of an episode on a TV show. If there was a Cobra Kai baby with the guy who plays Eli, that would have made the news.

The episodes were long as it is and I suppose any pregancy scenes simply didn't make the final cut. I'd bet my final dollar that the father was John Kreese though, and probably conceived during one of their conjugal visits.

I don't know why they would want to make them bigger for the show. Maybe they were trying to squish them down and inadvertently made them look bigger. Give wardrobe a raise!

6th and final season has been announced by the creators of Cobra Kai. No date announced yet, just a renewal for season 6, and the end of the series after that.
