Brooklyn Nine Nine Season 1 - Page 2 - OOTV -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

Totally broad, but starting broad is much easier to dial back than starting niche and dialing up. Niche dialing up makes characters caricatures, and broad dialing down makes caricatures characters. This show seems to be on a nearly perfect 6 episode comedy arc to awesome. As long as it keeps getting tighter, I'll be happy, and each episode has been tighter than the previous one.

I can definitely see it happening. They need a Parks and Recreation-like "adjustment" to some of the characters though.

I laughed when Diaz "listed" gratuitous violence at the beginning of last night's episode, and then they had to go and ruin the joke by explaining it.

I think this show's pretty mediocre, but as far as I'm concerned, Mike Schur earned a lifetime of goodwill for his involvement in Fire Joe Morgan, so I'll keep watching until it gets better or gets canceled.

Enjoyed the third episode most, and am glad Chelsea Peretti, (the main reason I watched the show initially) is getting a good amount of screen time.

Pretty much everything Andre Braugher says on this show makes me laugh. All the "he's tough to read" gags tonight were incredible.

Lack of Chelsea Peretti in last episode was unfortunate though.

Cold open prank call was good. "I'm here on a date...who is now leaving...Worth it!"

"I want all paperwork on your closed cases by tomorrow. Scully, you can just write 'I didn't close any' on a piece of paper."
"You got it"

Payoff to "he's tough to read" with angry yelling Captain was nice.

Sgt is too emotional. I know that's the joke, but something's not quite right there. Other characters are great though. And yeah, could have used some Chelsea.

There's no way Terry could paint that portrait so quickly. Even if he painted at Bob Ross speed there would still need to be time to wait for it to dry. I expect my cop procedurals to be realistic, a la Law & Order, CSI Miami, etc.

You're right. I'm starting to find this show a little unrealistic as well. I mean, a police department with 2 semi-attractive female detectives and an NFL player? Come on, casting department. Should have went Angie Harmon, Grace Park, and Ice-T.

Liking it so far. The Terry Crews character is one-note but it's still a good note. Favorite line so far is "What kind of dollhouse has wheels??"

Really funny and I'm already attached with all the characters (although I'm not a fan of the weird speaking chick. Only in small doses. I mean the one with the big nose who spent time with Terry at the shooting range).

Good show, I have high hopes.

Solid. Not as lol as past eps, but enjoyable. They still explain jokes for a beat too long. Great characters. Chelsea was good this ep, and I like that Terry is getting back into the field.
