Wherever Tom’s stock as a celebrity was prior to this, it is skyrocketing. He’s great

If last year's Celebrity BB is any indication, alliances are less meaningful. It was more just voting out people that want to quit/go home. Half of last years game was doing that. And then for the remaining house guests, during the final 3 days the house goes from something like 8 guests to a winner.

I hope they improve this somehow for season 2.

Can't be live when first house guest's eviction was being discussed on Big Brother After Dark a couple nights ago. Also cable guide doesn't note episodes as "live", just "new".

not even close to live. theyve been in the house for about nine days now. after the first eviction airs, there will be some live episodes.

too many similarities to last year's cast.
Ricky as Metta. oddball athletes who operate outside of the game.
Kandi as Keyshia Knight Pulliam. successful older women who are above it all.
Tamar as Brandi Glanville. housewife trying to bring her brand of drama to a show that doesnt need or care for it
Scaramucci as bodega Omarosa. "I was in the white house" is said in every confessional
Natalie as Ariadna. the only good looking person. semi-normal and will skate by having no personality and making no enemies
Jonathan as Ross Matthews. game savy gay guy. though Ross was a lot better than this dude.
Lolo as Shannon Elizabeth. hyper intense competitor who is ultimately too much
Kato as Mark McGrath. older guy who is out of touch but harmless and wont go out for awhile
Lochte as Chuck Liddell. it's amazing they can tie their shoes they are so stupid

Joey Lawrence is a bit like James Maslow in look/casting type but they are quite different people. Tom Green is probably the Marissa Jaret-Winokur if we're continuing to do comps. IMO, adding a straight up comedian to the house is a great addition. The thing that made last season great was that there were a few actual fans of the game (Marissa, Ross, Shannon). and they drove the gameplay. we dont have that here unfortunately. Tom thinks strategically but he isnt familiar enough with Big Brother.
Dina is underrated right now. she doesnt seem very stategic yet, but at a minimum she understands the game element

are you following the feeds/updates? because a lot of those comparisons do not hold up. maybe on the show when they have to play up their archetypes.

Ricky is absolutely nothing like Metta. He is very involved in the game. Jonathan is more like Shannon than Ross. Kandi isn’t quitting. Brandi was actually playing the game while Tamar is just being personal. I can’t believe you’re describing Natalie as having no personality when that’s what wrestlers do for a living — nothing like models. She also seems to have a pretty good knowledge of the game. Lolo has experience with the challenge and is here to play the social game, not just the physical game. I would be shocked if she had the breakdown and wanting to quit that Shannon had. Lochte is more like Fessy from bb20. Kato is kinda similar to Mark, except Mark was doing it intentionally. But Kato is probably in a better spot because he’s connected to the game via Tom and is learning.

Dina as underrated is probably the most laughable thing I have ever heard. She may go far because she will never be a threat, but she’s clueless and is not playing the game. Tom is nothing like Marissa — she knew the game and was cautious not to upset anyone. Tom makes jokes about people all the time. He does have a good head on his shoulders strategically, and it’s fine that he isn’t familiar with BB. If anything it’s refreshing and a nice change of pace to see people learning how to play as it goes along instead of having preconceived ideas.

The main difference between this season and last is that people are actually playing, and want to play. The reason last season sucked was that everyone kept quitting, and even the ones who were there didn’t play much. Here, there are a lot of different forces in the house already.

If you just base it off archetypes, then you can basically say every season of every reality show ever made has too many similarities. There’s only so many archetypes to go around. You could easily say the same about any regular BB season. So I don’t see why you would dock this season for that. I think this is a good, competitive cast.
