IMO, it was left intentionally ambiguous. My feeling is that when Hank either discovers or reveals that he knows, it will be much more of a discovery than a reveal.

I am gonna read rest of thread now

Breaking neck != being dead.

Yes, but it could be so much blacker.

This is certainly within the realm of possibilities. It won't be the first or last time I am completely wrong about something, or that something obvious flew right over my head.

In before I look like an idiot when it's revealed that we all got swerved and Ted is not, in fact, dead.

Tbh I think it would have been smarter for me to say "we're supposed to think Ted is dead" rather than "Ted is definitively dead", because as has been pointed out, there is a window for him to still be plausibly alive and in a hospital somewhere. It would be ****ty writing though, and I don't expect to see any ****ty writing in season five. I do think Ted is dead, and I'll be disappointed in the BB writers if he's not.

Is there a legal way for a UK fan to watch this btw? I'm aware of some less legitimate means but I have law-abiding family members and friends who are interested.
Netflix.

Ted is now paralyzed and will be in a wheelchair, only able to communicate by ringing a bell.

I would love that so f'ing much.

It's just such a ridiculous parlay for Ted to be alive based purely on the events that took place in the BB universe (all this is aside from the fact that it makes no sense from the POV of a script which was meant to provide a possible ending to the series if they didn't get renewed past S4).

A) Ted doesn't die, which is pretty improbable based on everything we saw.
B) Saul then has to decide to bring injured/vegetable Ted to the hospital rather than just offing him. Also pretty improbable.

I mean, Walt Jr. could be the head of Madrigal, because we don't have definitive proof that he isn't.

Feel like stating the obvious but rewatching season 4 and it's the best season of a tv show ever made.

The opens to each episode are perfection.

I mean, the only thing we ever see Walt Jr do is eat breakfast. What's he doing for the rest of the day? Being the head of Madrigal Electromotive makes the most sense.

There was no way this series wasn't getting a 5th and final season. You can bank that. The writers knew that. Despite what Gilligan says. Thinking Season 4 was written as the final season is akin to believing Ted is dead.

Yeah.

Read this off a review site from a FB Breaking Bad post. Minor spoilers about the first 2 episodes only, nothing huge but proceed with caution.

Spoiler:
It may reveal Ted's fate...

Question: I must know if Mike is going to be in the final season of Breaking Bad. My heart will shatter into a million pieces if he isn’t. —Ava
Ausiello: Not only is he in it, but he plays a major role in the first two episodes – both of which I’ve seen; they had me (not surprisingly) completely riveted. A few other non-spoilery spoilers about Episodes 1 and 2: Giancarlo Esposito’s Gus may be gone, but his spirit looms large; Walt will literally become a magnet for trouble; and someone we thought was dead isn’t!

Spoiler:
Gale obv still alive.

This is all making so much sense now... Walt Jr. is Keyser Soze.

Indeed. Think my favorite opening is when Gale is setting up the super-lab.

Wow, I guess we should feel pretty honored that someone who's more informed about Breaking Bad than the show's creator is posting ITT. You probably shouldn't keep posting in case you accidentally spoil some of S5, but thanks for the knowledge you've dropped.

I'm not suggesting that I know more about the show than Gilligan. I am suggesting that Gilligan "sticks to the script" when making public comments about the show.

And I just don't see how anyone can watch the back half of Season 4 and think it was written as a series finale.

A few years back someone thought that

Keaton
was Keyser Soze, it blew my mind.

Cynthia knows too much IMO. Walt needs to get to her before Hank does.

On the BB podcast he said something like "We were almost positive the show would be renewed, but just in case it wasn't we wanted to have a satisfying ending." No one ever claimed it was written to be the final season.

Ya, writers tend to skew pretty neurotic. I can see that type worrying about a hit show not being renewed.

THE F DO-- there's a whole series of those comics at some website; I find them pretty funny (something about how terrible they are really helps sell it).
