Did feel a bit forced, but also makes sense within the plot. Walt is trying to get them to acknowledge the superiority of his product. The fact that they know his name means they know his product. This is what makes his plan work.

This, obv. Getting something huge spoiled for you (like I mention in the above post) really sucks, and it's not like including it here is necessary/has some huge benefit. Sure The Wire is from 02, but does that mean someone that hasn't seen it till now doesn't deserve to watch it w/o spoilers?
