QFT. I own 4 handguns and have taken self defense training classes and hitting a target is freaking tough even with a good two handed grip. Thats not drawing on the spot, one handed while shooting a live person.

I dont really care though because its a tv show and they may have done that partially on purpose to expose more about his character than just being a burglar.

Kid's fate:

Spoiler:
Chemical disincorporation obv.

I loved the spider scene, but it was clear what the kid's fate was going to be as soon as the train heist was mentioned. Train whistle in the background of the open gave that away.

Oh, haha, since this episode was so awesome, I forgot about the little joke at the beginning when Walter stops by Hank's office, he says: 'Just wanted to drop in from out of the blue'

Yeah, I agree—this too. Also, the way he said, "You guys thought of everything," at the end of that scene felt a bit awkward. It had a brown-nosing vibe, which fits in with a desire to impress, something that might play a bigger role as the series progresses.

I've always loved how he almost forgets his line and says big ass instead of great ass.

Everything we have seen from Todd is that he has a desire to stand out from the other Vamanos Pest team and move up in the meth game. Walt, Jesse, and Mike's reputation's probably precede them a great deal even if Todd only heard what his boss knows from Saul. Heisenberg is a legend now round those parts. No reason to think a young burgular with skills and ambition wouldn't want to kiss ass and perform at a high level for guys he perceives as big time making lots of money.

You'll note he responds to Walt and Jesse with "Yes Sir" and "No Sir", as instructed by Mike

Odds on the child not getting killed if Walt just listens to what Mike says for once?

Yeah, this is what I'm saying. I don't think this show does things accidentally or sloppily. That sequence is meant in part to give us the idea that Todd is more than he seems.

Haha the great ass line was adlibbed by Pacino thus the messiness of it, the look of astonishment from Azaria is actually kinda genuine in that take.

Listen to what exactly? The other option for cooking instead of getting a supply of the methyl-amine?

I don't think so. After they pull the tanks back out of the ground, they're going to have a bigass hole and a backhoe right there. Not hard to figure out where the kid and his bike are going.

I agree with daryn also. I've got the analytical side that can't help but try to figure some things out, but quite honestly when I succeed that's a letdown. It's way more fun to get railroaded by something unexpected (such as the end of last night's episode).

I'm not sure if this is meant to disagree with me or not, but if so, everything after "Also" was an observational afterthought, not part of my initial critical feelings.

Pretty much what Jesse thinks of this thread.

and here I thought that the train managing to stop in an impossibly short amount of time was going to be this weeks thread runner.

LOL while I watching it I thought the same thing. I was hoping for like, charts and graphs and math and ****.

that was addressed with the distance wheel, which should satisfy the typical viewer.

it seemed odd that the train had fewer than 10 cars.

Amazing episode. I was convinced the heist was gonna go wrong and Mike or the new kid was gonna die, or Jesse would get horribly injured or something. Did not see the ending coming at all, thought they were gonna end on Todd waving.

I love how they're building to Jesse being caught in the middle of the showdown between Mike and Walt - that's twice this season where they've had a camera shot of Mike and Walt arguing, only for Jesse to break it up by coming up with a great idea.

It seems like they must be treating S5 Part I and S5 Part II as more or less separate seasons - as amazing as this season has been so far, it's been more about Walt's transformation and the logistics of building his criminal empire than just people dying left and right or Hank getting real close to finding out about Walt. I feel like the real carnage is gonna come in 2013.
