Breaking Bad: season 5 Breaking Bad: season 5

Elliott got the money and the girl, of course he has no hard feelings. That said, I think "Walt takes offense at something minor and storms off" is still the most likely explanation.

Been watching some of the Breaking Bad repeats on AMC lately. One of the questions I have is why would Walt still be parking his car right outside the laundry when he knows that Hank is on to Gus and will probably soon know about the laundry?

What's making everyone think Gretchen and Elliot will be a strong presence this season? Was it one of the new episode titles:
Spoiler:
Madrigal
I'm watching Season 4 again, and that is just the name of the corporation Hank finds out owns the Chicken restaurant.

HUGE SPOILER!!

Though it might not be true.

Spoiler:
The Madrigal website having an Elliot quote

It's something I've been curious about for awhile, but didn't think about it until someone above mentioned them 2. Now I'm speculating on how they would come back if in fact they do.
06-26-2012 , 06:08 PM
oh wow, exciting implications. Though it'd feel a bit contrived, would be a pretty bizarre coincidence.

Well, I was going to say "I didn't click the spoiler but I think you just spoiled it with your description outside the spoiler", but when you quote a post it shows you what was in spoilers. And you did spoil it with that description.

I don't think he does. I'm not sure where he parks exactly, but it's somewhere far enough that they hide him in the laundry hamper to sneak him in.

I don't necessarily, I was just speculating on what would be a really powerful way to show just how far into the depths of his own bitterness and rage Walt has sunk.

lol...oops. Well, all I really described is something Hank found out last season.

Skyler is probably the character I dislike the most on any TV show I've ever seen. I really can't think of someone else on this level. It's not Anna Gunn, she plays her well I think.

My point is I don't see how Walt could have left anyone for Skyler. In some flashbacks she seems nice but still...

Between this and TDKR the middle of July seems a lifetime away!

No, I watched an episode last night and he was parking right outside the entrance at the same time Hank has him driving around doing investigative work.

Pretty sure that's just some ****** fan site.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH CANT WAIT

I think so too, but I loved how it sparked my interest. I could totally see it happening. Would be a stretch, but they could pull it off.

Due to the complexity of your question I don't know how to approach it, so please bear with me.

1) I think the show is called Mad Men, right?
2) I was addressing part of this post below.

Gretchen says that Walt left her and she never knew why. But it had something to do with Skylar. Thats as much as was said, right?
I was saying that if he left Gretchen for Skyler I would cringe because I really dislike her character a lot. The romance part of Gretchen and Walt's relationship and the reason for Walt leaving are more or less unknown.

I'm with everyone who wants to see more of the Gretchen/Elliot/former company storyline explored.

Walt told a story, I think in S1, about how he met Skyler. Based on the way it's told, I don't think he left Gretchen for her-- she was a waitress, I think, and it took him some time to win her over-- but I suppose it's possible he was trying to do it even before he left Gretchen.

The genius of Skyler's character is that the show makes it so easy to overlook her positive attributes. We get just enough of Walt's POV in the early seasons to make it look like Skyler's the one in the wrong. I think Walt being on the verge of dragging Skyler down with him, and almost needing her there to stop himself from blowing the whole thing (she pulls off the car wash purchase through deception, she invents the gambling story, she is obsessed with keeping their cover), is one of the most interesting parts of seasons three and four. Skyler's aptitude for lying and deception are coming to the fore, and while she's nowhere near on Walt's level, it shows how badly Walt's descent into darkness has affected those around him.

He did not.

I root for Walt at certain times while watching the show, because he's a badass and it's fun to watch. It's the same way I'd root for Dexter Morgan, or Jack Bauer, or any other similar character who does bad things.

However, it's been a long time since I actually sympathised with Walt, and I think the best thing for the show is for him to get as dark as possible. I think people are confusing the idea of an interesting character with a sympathetic one from time to time ITT.

i dont absolutely hate walt and i dont think a lot of people to.

but its obvious that a lot of what he does is excessive. letting jane die was definitely excessive and was the first moment that i started to root against walt.

in my opinion, its not that walt is hard to root for, its the fact that other characters in the show are so easy to like. personally, jesse is, if not my favorite tv character of all time, one of them. i also have liked hank from the very beginning and if this upcoming season is going to be a big hank vs walt storyline, id be rooting for hank 100%.

its definitely very noble what walt has done for his family, but hanks position as a dea agent and his own bad ass personality makes him more likable than walt to me. jesse's backstory and his innocence compared to walt makes him more likable as well.

The first half of S4 I thought Walt went soft and was messing up big time by going against Gus.

I thought Walt had the perfect thing going with Gus. He cooked in a bad ass lab and got paid millions without taking any of the risks. Seemed like an easy game.

But now Walt= Niccolò Machiavelli. And I love him for it.

I can't wait.

Best thread ever.

This was needed for walt to save his families life and i could definately give a pass for this if he knew the boy wouldn't be in serious danger.
HE PUT A CHILD IN ICU. Watch the episodes again. They didn't treat the kid for a tummy ache, give him a lollipop and send him on his way. His life was on the line and he was probably in a great deal of pain. Walt has a noticeable sigh of relief when Jesse says it looks like Brock is gonna pull through despite being on the brink of death.

I don't know why people like Walt to the point they would even want to justify such a despicable act.

Yes and yes. He is the obstacle which all other characters in the show are forced to overcome. Pretty much the textbook definition of a villain.

Does that statement he makes make him look like a man who is terrible and deserves a worst fate scenario ending for him?
LOL? You know that after he says this, he puts a kid in ICU to save his own skin, right? Newsflash: Walt lies to everyone.
