Breaking Bad: season 5 Breaking Bad: season 5

Something big most likely happens tonight

Quite a bold prediction, there. Care to elaborate?

You could say Gus's death was a catalyst, and Walt's decay into Heisenberg became exponential.

Quite a nifty quote from Aaron Paul in the Rolling Stone issue with him and Cranston on the cover:

Spoiler:
"I love this casino," says Paul, who loves gambling in general. "I was making a really good living playing online poker. I could've retired from acting."

After having started season 3 I've come to the conclusion that Skyler is a hypocritical bitch and a ho.

She kicks her husband out of both their houses just after the baby is born for lying and covering up his crime, but then she turns around and sleeps with her boss after he did the same thing and she kept her secret?

WTF?!? I lost all sympathy I had for this character.

i had had a similar view but, in all fairness, beneke had not carried on a campaign of deception against her, unlike walt. also being a tax evader does not imply violence in the way that being a meth chef does. and she waited until walt was physically well to separate.

not to say i've come around on skyler or anything. she's still a dummy and lucky to have heisenberg as a husband as opposed to the milquetoast we meet in the pilot. but you can't hold ****ing beneke against her, i don't think

I really think the discussion is ******ed.
But I cant see how anyone could hold that view?
How is a meth cook anything but despicable?

Well, it doesnt matter.
Pumped for tonight's episode.

I don't understand how you could appreciate this show if you hold this view. By this logic, Walt has been despicable since episode one, thereby making his entire character arc irrelevant, as has Jesse, whom I wouldn't describe as despicable at any point.

It's just a massive, ridiculous over-simplification of pretty much all the themes and ideas in the show to just come out and say "meth cooks=evil". Even by this thread's standards, I think this is a new low when it comes to missing the point.

EDIT: Having said that, I agree that the post you were quoting is also terrible.

I wonder if the creators are trying to do too much with the show at this point.
thank you.

Must have a 2p2 account.

Interesting choice of words from someone trying to prove he's not sexist.

Sorry, didn't realize we had put the topic to bed. This is what I get for reading a thread and feeling compelled to respond before I finish.

Well, the "overnight" coincides with him blowing up the meth kingpin of the southwest, so I for one totally believe it.

Yep, sleeping with your boss after your drug-dealing husband lets you take all the heat for your separation and then strongarms his way back into the house is just completely morally despicable. What a ****, amirite?

Walt was not a mild mannered pussy last season. This was not an overnight transformation.

The one person who had the power to keep him in check was killed though... by him.

This.

I've been on vacation for two weeks with no access to BB, its been torture.

Speaking of torture, there is this thread.

The rape discussion was just over the top, even by BB 2+2 thread standards.

But that speech at the end was NOT directed at Jesse.

Anyway, a couple thoughts from the last two episodes since I'm late to the party:

- Aaron Paul was freaking amazing in ep 2. His reaction to the ricin was fantastic.
- Very interesting to me that Jesse would take his life with Walt/meth dealing over his budding relationship with Brock/girlfriend. Jesse in a weird way needs Walt in his life
- Its really a shame that there are only 13 more episodes. They could've really made the transition to their new setup/Mike dealing with the Gus aftermath into a half of a season easy I think. Feels slightly rushed
- I see some complaints about Skylar and her fear of Walt. Her husband blew up a dude in a retirement home. Even if we don't 100% believe she'd be this freaked out (I do), I think its pretty hard for any of us to think about how we'd react if we were married to Walt. Dude went from a nobody to a freaking murderer very fast. There's a big difference between crime for money and murder
- LANDRY!
- GOAT show going to GOAT. I was wondering how they'd continue with the awesome after Gus and they have picked right back up. Ep 2 is probably a top 3-4 episode for me.

Do we know Skylark was aware of Beneke's tax evasion? My impression was he hid this from her as well.
