off the top of my head.

crazy 8's friend (phosphene gas followed by chemical disincorporation)
crazy 8 (strangulation followed by chemical disincorporation)
Tuco (Was involved in the shooting but didnt pull the trigger)
A truck full of mexicans, Deputy Kee, and an elderly navajo farmer (all killed by the cousins on their way to avenge tuco)
Jane (failed to intervene and stop her from choking on her own vomit)
Janes Dad (Suicide because of janes death)
Spooge (Cash Machined to death while Jesse, on walts orders, tried to get recompense for the stolen meth)
Combo (ordered jesse to order him to deal drugs on rival gang's turf and he got shot)
Combo Breaker (Killed combo, but was offed by the fring henchmen who put him up to it after walt and jesse confronted fring about his child labor practices)
The cousins (kind of) (went after hank to avenge tuco and got shot)
fring henchman #1 and #2 (walt ran them over to save jesse)
Gale (shot by jesse on walts orders)
Fring Lieutenant (box cuttered by fring after being seen at the Gale murder scene)
Fring (blown up my a fulminated mercury bomb)
Hector salamanca (suicide bombs himself to kill fring on walts urging)
fring lab henchman #1 and #2 (shot by walt then incinerated in the lab fire)
Mike (gutshot and presumed dead AORN)

I cant bring myself to blame walt for dirtbike kid or the 737 people -- hes just not involved directly enough. Same goes for the Tuco Henchmen. Spooge is close -- we dont know the same thing wouldnt have happened to him if walt and jesse weren't involved at all.

All in all, not a bad body count for the only meth cook in america who doesnt carry a gun.

I had no idea what you were talking about... turns out my dl of season 5 ep 1 was missing the first 5 minutes... goddamnit.

Not only did i miss an important season story point, i missed an appearance BOBBY frickin SINGER.

Clearly given the source of the M60 its for hunting either demons or leviathans.

serious answer -- he could need it for practically anything, but it doesnt seem like it would be terribly useful for an alamo style last stand against the DEA.

My guess is he is planning to storm something to rescue someone... skyler, jesse, the baby who knows.

or the m60 is for going back in time and shooting down 2 planes at once over his own house and trying to make it look like an accident

or to shoot donnie darkko to prevent that from happening..??

All I want to say to this discussion is that I trust Vince Gilligan. He has not disappointed me once.

I was disappointed at the conclusion of the season 2 bodybag tease but other than that I'm all thumbs up for the show.

surely it's a bit of a stretch to pin that on old walter

I was on the fence about including that. What decided me was that the two of them pinned a picture of walt on that little shrine thingy right before they started the killing spree. In my mind, it would be just a little too much to say walt isn't even "indirectly responsible" for what they did (which was the question).

TBH, i think you could make a stronger argument for both Jane and her dad not being on the list than for cousins' victims.

But LOL, actually there was an article before this season about how BB is totally unpopular in England compared to comparable American prestige dramas. Like, drawing 5 figure viewership unpopular.

One explanation is that the core conceit of the show(medical bills) just makes no sense at all to a British audience.

Yeah I can also vouch for the fact that the show is super popular in the UK and people have no problem understanding the premise. The first season was shown on a channel almost no-one has (FX) and the second season was shown late night on a channel almost everyone has but no-one watches (5USA) - nothing since season three has been shown in the UK at all. Almost everyone I know who watches the show (probably >50% of people I would ever talk to about TV) heard about it through word of mouth and watches it illegally.

I'm not sure that BB counts as "super popular" by most accepted metrics of US TV really.

Last week's episode had 3 million viewers. "Keeping up with the Kardashians" had 3.4 million.

They're British. Even if the UK had a health care program similar to the US, the British version of Breaking Bad would be "Walter White has cancer; continues life of quiet desperation until he dies."

Can anyone envision an ending in which Walt does not end up dead or in prison? Or is it really a foregone conclusion that the show will end with his demise?
08-30-2012 , 02:34 PM
Every scenario I've thought of (but one) will satisfy me. That one is also really off the wall and borderline stupid, but even that wouldn't be horrible. Just not preferred. Trust the captain, trust the crew

Shield spoilers

Spoiler:
The only way he doesn't end up dead or in prison is if he suffers a Vik Mackey type fate. I'm not sure what that would be for Walt. Maybe a janitor for Grey Matter, or go back to teaching. Those both feel contrived, death or prison, death or prison feels more satisfying. I'd say the odds of Walt getting out of this as a live free man are about the same as a character in a Shakespearian tragedy.
