Dunno if this connection has been made before, but in the episode that's on right now... Right when Gus gets done talking to Hank and the other DEA agents about Gale's murder he then gets on the elevator and the screen closes in on his face and he looks very worried as the bell rings for each floor (predicts the bell ringing from the wheel chair bomb that kills him)

I always like finding those little hints when rewatching episodes with the knowledge of what happens in future episodes. Thought that was a pretty cool one.

dont forget about Todd and his merry band of white supremacists...

the scene with Todd taking the tarantula is too creepy not to foreshadow his involvement in something that takes place during the last 8 eps

Definitely cool although it's been posted in previous BB threads. The other more obvious one is the face burned off the stuffed animal floating in Walt's pool in S2.

The tarantula is trapped in the jar, just like Todd is now trapped in his new life after killing the kid and his involment in the train robbery slash meth producing.

Or not.

if season 5b is at least half as good as 5a the BB might be the only elite (completed or near completed) drama series thats final season(s) is/are about as good as its peak.

Sopranos, the Wire, Mad Men (judging by S6) all fell off during their final season or two.

Deadwood didn't drop off but the third season wasn't a designed final season, it turned out to be the final season because of cancelation by HBO.

That's one of my favorites.

Also the scene with Lydia handcuffed to the table making the phone call to Hank's bugged office.

The flashback with Hector and Tuco's cousins as little boys.

The flashback when Hector kills Gus' "partner".

this show is the greatest. You could ask someone for their favourite scene and get different answers almost every time.

I'm not as familiar with Sopranos as I am The Wire and Deadwood but I don't remember a quality drop. I'm in the minority, I think, but deadwood is so damn good that I can never really put it below anything I've seen. The wire S5 was a drop in quality but it gets too much hate, I doubt BB surpasses it.

I'm pretty comfortable putting the 4 of them on par (assuming BB finishes solid) and ranking them to personal preference.

I still haven't got around to catching up on mad men.

I think boardwalk empire is a contender if it gets even slightly better and stays strong.

GoT has a chance but I'd say it'll be elite 2nd tier with Justified and the Shield.

Imo

This. Breaking bad is just so much damn fun. It's really unlike other elite shows.

Oh, I forgot six feet under...I dunno, despite it being one of my favorites I think it may be slightly below tier 1. I go back and forth on that, though.

I think consensus wise we'd all agree that top 5 episodes would involve Crawl Space, Half Measures, Full Measure, Madrigal and another episode right?

Not sure what the fifth would be. Season 1 and Season 2 deserve an episode in there but S1 and 2 more had a constant quality where season 3 and later would focus on building to moments.

Would have no issue with "... And the bag's in the river" (krazy 8 death ep), "Grilled" (Tuco death ep), "Better Call Saul" (first Saul ep), Phoenix (Jan death ep), One Minute, Salud (cartel massacre ep), Face Off or Dead Freight being up there

so pretty much too many to pick from lol

I wouldn't put Madrigal in the top five, even though it's an outstanding episode.

My top five:

1. Crawl Space
2. One Minute
3. Full Measure
4. 4 Days Out
5. Salud

But yeah, there's just too many. Fly, Crazy Handful Of Nothin', ...And The Bag's In The River, Better Call Saul, Face Off, Dead Freight, Madrigal, Fifty-One, Phoenix, Down, Grilled, Half Measures, Problem Dog, Gliding Over All, End Times...just too many.

I think a top 5 is near impossible. Top ten is doable but still leaves a ton of great eps on the cutting room floor
