i dont think he was bargaining for hank for purely selfless reasons. Look how his entire world just blew the **** up because of hanks death. Skyler, walt jr, completely against him now. He's completely lost all shred of hope to be with his family.
There was some practicality to making sure hank didn't die, jesse on the otherhand is the opposite. At this point, walt has to blame jesse at least somewhat for forcing his hand, getting hank involved, and getting hank killed.
- He thinks jesse is a low life rat
- Jesse got hank involved forcing walts hand which ended up with hank being dead. (whether this should get pinned at jesses feet is irrelevant, walt will see it that way, and certainly was pissed off about it when he called for a bullet to go into jesses head)
- He wanted jesse dead on the spot
- signs jesse over to be tortured
- tells him how he saw jane die as one final **** you
- now because jesse ratted, hank is in a hole in the ground, walts entire family is turned against him, and he's down 70 million dollars
- the show is called breaking bad. how can you end the show with a selfless act?
I don't see any logical, non-irritating path to walt all of a sudden forgiving jesse. It doesn't make sense for walts character.
That said, with so many people predicting the above line, I am a bit scared, I really hope it doesn't go down that way.
