Ok, I'll take over 1.

But anyway, BE has Margaret. Sopranos had A.J., Tony's sister, and Vito Spatafore in a leather chaps.

Harrow did know better and he didn't want to die. If he dies before before saving the kid the whole assault is for nothing. He should have fought like he wanted to win, like he had a clue. Not this played out B movie crap.
Harrow may not have 'wanted' to die given his new girl and the importance of Tommy's safety, but it should be apparent by now that Harrow has no fear of death - he was within inches of killing himself when the dog took his mask in the woods last season. Considering he's a trained soldier and a master gunman, I don't see what's so unrealistic about Harrow having zero fear of 5-7 drunk henchmen (subtracting one that he pops when he gets inside and factoring in the initial confusion it brings).

Big difference between having no fear and wanting to die. My whole point was that its a played out cliche to make the character fight like he wants to die to show he has no fear, and it was totally unnecessary. I'm perfectly fine with him having no fear.

The historical Richard Harrow actually invented this maneuver afaik, so in this case it's not a cliche.

Agreed. Shes not even that attractive. She was kinda back in season 1 after Nucky killed her husband and ****ed her a few episodes after.

The hospital storyline was to run parallels to her own life.
Member of Woman's temperance movement group to the wife of a criminal bootlegger. Giving member of a catholic hospital to the patient of an under the table abortion clinic.
Among others. It was a good storyline, but agreed she's ****ing annoying.

Just finished season 03. Feels like you guys are making too much fuss about Harrow's scene. It was definitely not planned well but it affects the quality of the series very slightly.

Looking forward to watching S04!

harrow storyline was redundant after jimmy got killed. they should just have him move back to Wisconsin, i really didn't see the point of the father/girl/harrow/kid plot. his james bond moves at the end were A+ though

Just caught up. Great season after the mildly entertaining S2.

I'm always surprised at what people argue about over multiple pages. Just to throw in my 2 cents on the Harrow scene: I admit it probably wasn't realistic but this is a historical fiction. Scenes need to convey information about characters and entertain an audience. Harrow could have stealthily picked off a few guys and got the kid out safely. But by doing the scene this way, different qualities about Harrow are conveyed. He is shown to be fearless of death and extremely protective of Tommy. It also shows how Harrow is completely above the skill of every other person in the show, which makes Nucky's worry about his safety genuine and Harrow's threat to the father of his new girl sincere.

Don't really get what happened there. Sepinwall Winter article is good, cleared up the Mellon distillery thing which I was kinda hazy on.
Just caught up on series and had this same question if anyone could answer. Here is a season 4 teaser for anyone interested:

I think the hold up might have been the guy who plays Nelson was off working on man of steel since he's playing General Zod.

Doubt that was a holdup, Man of Steel was done filming some time ago and Nelson really isn't the biggest character. Even if he was busy they could just film other stuff first, since plenty of episodes don't even include him.

I don't think it's been any longer between seasons than it usually would be, since S3 aired from September-December. I'd imagine we'll get S4 around the same time this year.

Ye it's always been a September show iirc. No hold up just the standard agonising wait.

Something I've always been a bit confused about ITT... so there is a new character introduced in the teaser. Clearly he is going to be of importance. They say his name. I have no clue who he is. I would assume people who aren't really into history from that era or aren't mob buffs also don't know who he is.

Pretty sure Dids doesn't feel like making modding any harder (GoT spoiler free thread is a nightmare to mod I bet) and said "Historical info is not considered a spoiler."

I know the show detours from the historical account a good bit, but if this guy is a historical character, it seems like a pretty major spoiler to post a full bio on him, no?

edit: I avoided using specifics since a lot of people avoid teasers and trailers, and I respect that.

I don't think the new guy is based off anyone historical.

ah, cool, that's a relief, now I don't have to worry about an over anxious mob history nerd. Not sure why we are spoil tagging this, but I guess it can't hurt.

FFS. I just started watching The Wire several weeks ago and am up to the beginning of season 4 now. Just watched the preview and realized Chalky White is Omar.
