Really hoping they don't kill off Nucky anytime soon. I want Rosetti to die for being a massive tool and taking what Joe the Boss said literally to the point of trying to be a Napoleon general.

Why did Gyp pay off all the townspeople? Did it have something to do with getting their signatures and addresses?

Also, since there's only one main road between NY and AC did that mean that Rothstein, Lansky and Luciano had to pass through Tabor Heights to get to that meeting with Nucky? Seems a bit risky after trying to unsuccessfully whack Gyp.

Gyp basically strong armed the townspeople and they are now his factory workers who will be producing the alcohol. They talk about this on hbogo interactive features if your interested.

2,220 dollars in 2011 according to inflation.

However this show has greatly exaggerated money due to the fact no one would find it too impressive if Nucky was bringing in a thousand bucks a week or whatever.

I would guess the 200 a month in the show is meant to represent like a thousand in today's economy.
