oh **** its on gyp ,

great ep , been waiting for van alden to blow up at his coworkers ...pretty hyped for the end of this season ...

also odds on margaret being already pregnant w/ owen's child or nucky finding the diaphram and killing owen ...the prenatal care storyline has to lead to somewhere .

You just knew that guy was either going to get his head smashed in or his face ironed with the iron. I'm really glad Van Alden went with the method that took a little more time and effort. You just don't see that kind of craftsmanship and attention to detail any more.

He prefers to be known as The Iceman these days

Cromwell was boss, made Nucky look like his lap dog, rare for Nucky to be the guy at the bottom looking up.

"Just thought you'd like to know"
That right there was Gillian's most profound (and possibly only?) meaningful contribution to the show, such an impact on the story.

My only nit was that shouldn't Gyp have waited until Nucky and AR were actually INSIDE Babette's before activating the bomb?

A dash of Richard, a pinch of Capone, with a touch of AR, laced with lashings of (from?) Val Alden. Just about the perfect ep.

hate to be this guy, but rosetti learns the day of that nucky is going to be a certain place and is able to get a massively powerful bomb rigged?

going to miss billie, the show threw me off by not killing her 5 episodes ago, should've known when nucky bought her a lifetime annuity

i don't look at wikipedias of real people in this show but torrio isn't going to last

the shot of the meatpacking areas was quite well executed, even though it was obviously CGI, they made an (overly showy) effort.

Great episode as usual.

I liked Richard refusing to go along with Gillian's BS.

Also, unfortunately I dont think Owen is gonna last much longer.

This is Real Life spoilers
Spoiler:

Dion (aka dean) Obanion eventually gets killed in his flower shop causing the Chicago gangland wars

Torrio doesnt die (the attempt to kill him , he lives and moves to italy giving control to Capone)

Also there was mention of "Why is Capone in this show" , this isnt much of a spoiler but again, irl, Torrio did do business with Nucky.

I loved his little grin at the end. The sadistic glee he took in terrorizing these people.

Yeah, that seemed very, I want to say Sopranos-like, but can't think of a clear example, in that it became obvious Billie was going to die once she and Nucky reconciled and things were looking up for her.

I don't know if Capone is going to make a move or Torrio is going to straight-up retire, but he's clearly lost interest in dealing with the business.

Great scene, and my favorite of the episode. The slabs of meat behind both groups, the workers in the background, the costumes and the dialogue were all perfect. Loved every second.

I think Van Alden's Norwegian wife is pretty f awesome. I think his storyline needs something like that to balance it out.

Pretty sure after Torrio's relaxing trip to Italy he's had enough of the business and is ready to go live the good life. I see him just passing the torch to Al.

as was the case with manny, it seems providing an abnormal amount of airtime to an auxiliary character during an episode pretty much = they're dead by the end

he was easily the most boring/dragging part of the show at a point and now
I am starting to like his arc actually from agent to bootlegger

It was obviously a timed bomb of some kind, either set to go off at a fixed time, or had some kind if short timer that allowed whoever activated it enough time to get away once he saw Nucky was almost at the restaurant. Either way, it was handjob guy stopping and bothering Nucky that messed up the schedule.

I like that he is a man of no compromise. Office makes fun of you? Just swallow it completely with no rebuttals or response of any kind. If that gets old, iron a guy's face and destroy anything in sight Frankenstein style.

Question for the historians ITT,

was this massive explosion based on real life events?

Thought this episode felt like it had The Sopranos' fingerprints on it. Then I went back and looked at the credits: Terence Winter wrote it and Tim Van Patten directed it. Hell, even whiney ass Finn showed up! Strong ep, liked the Torrio/Capone stuff especially.

Yup, this episode reminded me of The Sopranos a lot too.

It's obvious Capone is going to take over soon. Torrio isn't interested in being a boss anymore.
