If your only measure for "quality of TV" is "how fast it moves the plot", you're doing it wrong

You recognize that he's halfway across the country and has zero impact on anything else in the show.

Having Capone meet Jimmy in s1 was okay. Doing a half-assed job showing Capone's coming up story while at the same time taking scenes away from all the characters at the center of the action hurts the whole show. I would be much happier giving that time to Rothstein, Luciano, and Lansky, interesting historical figures who actually matter in the context of the show.

For shows to earn and retain my viewership the stories need to go somewhere- and not necessarily at break neck speed. Otherwise what's the point of watching? This week hardly any of the plots advanced and as such I struggled to get through it.

Episodes that don't move plot should be interesting or insightful. This was neither.

The least interesting characters and arcs are the focus of this season. It's problem.

Gee, I wonder if someone found a spoiler.

I still giggle like a giddy school boy when I hear that name. Probably because of that old pickup line:
"**** me if I'm wrong, but isn't your name Gretchen?

couple good scenes but overall I thought this ep was comparably bad to last week.

Lol I promise I did not. The show just hinted at it way too much. Why else would they have that scene with Uncle June about needing Jimmy to be dead for her to get the brothel?

Yeah, huge LOL at the spoiler comment. It's called paying attention.

Oh, it's possible that he was just paying attention, but when people throw out betting odds on something that has already happened, I tend to be a cynic.

Not to mention a 10 second search on google brought up this with the first result

"On Easter Sunday, Eli looks to get back in Nucky’s good graces at a Thompson family reunion. While Richard and Tommy (Brady and Connor Noon) spend the day as guests of the Sagorskys, Gillian stays at home and makes a sacrifice to improve her future. In New York, after dinner and prayers, Gyp heads downtown in search of a blessing – from Joe Masseria."

When was this posted? And I posted those odds after people were doubting my hunch AFTER Roger was introduced. Not after he was killed or I saw any synopsis'.

I liked the episode, didn't seem like a lot happened but I didn't lose interest.

I loved Richard teling the dad that he will kill him.

Steve Buscemi can juggle, not surprised but never would of guessed.

Well I didn't read that. Pinky swear.

Idk how you can interpret her killing Roger from that anyway.

Haha ye seems this series is like marmite: you either love it or hate it.

I'm a fan, I thought it was a great episode and can't wait for next week already

To me it seemed pretty obvious that Gillian was going to **** him and kill him because the only way Jimmy would be "dead" to her is if she did it. Plus, the house is hers now, right?

Enjoyed this as well. Interested to see where the Richard and Julia? dynamic goes. When Richard says he will kill someone I believe it will happen.

Thought Gyp was done when joe was saying he couldn't control him

I thought the episode was good and I liked the easter theme and seeing what it was like back then. Following the last episode with this episode was a bad choice though. The pacing for the show has been pretty awful this season.

I feel bad for those of you who don't understand this last episode was the best of the whole series. It was amazing television. Incredibly well-written, directed and acted.

Fantastic in every way. Emmy's all around.

this last episode would be the worst episode, by far, of any ep of treme this year. and lol at any of the acting, directing, writing being better than the emmy submission eps of MM, BB, and HL.

I still don't care for Gillian at all, the rest of the episode was excellent.
