I love this show, but the last two episodes have begun to bore me.

I've been one of the Gyp haters just waiting for him to get it but I've finally come around to liking him.

Did Gillian really need a body to declare Jimmy dead or did she do that as some kind of ****ed up way of getting it done where she doesn't have to admit to herself he's gone?

Some interesting story lines this episode, missing the Chicago guys though and very eager to see the O'Banion/Van Alden plot come together.

the terrible scenes that surround the boobs. boobs on tv aren't much of a draw anymore anyway. i can see the screengrab 5 minutes after the show airs online

they've forced me to like Gyp, b/c they refuse to give us a lot of the other ruthless mobsters. he's the only one that you know you're gonna get some loose cannon action scenes from.

Maybe it's his dodgy accent wavering all over the place - it's particularly noticeable when he rants - but he still seems a bit cartoony to me.

I thought that was the worst ep of the season, almost had to force myself to get through it. Hardly moved any plot points at all. All that happened in those 60 minutes was:
1) Eli has now been promoted from Mickey's lackey to Nucky's lackey
2) Gyp just bought himself some more time
3) Gillian offed her Jimmy lookalike to take control of the whorehouse. Although it remains to be seen how she's going to convince everyone that it's actually Jimmy's body.

oh, and we learned that Nucky can juggle.

I really hope they pick it up from here because it's in a lull. I thought this season was supposed to be a lot more Chicago focused on the Van Alden and Capone story lines, but it hasn't panned out that way as yet.

She's his only living next of kin besides Tommy. She will identify him as Jimmy and that's all she wrote. Also there wasn't any pictures of Jimmy as far as I know floating around, so Roger looks close enough.

Insight: This show sure has a lot of cold blooded murderers in it.

I couldn't watch the bathtub scene. For some reason, machine gun murders are easy to watch.

I was going to make a list which ranked the most evil persons in Boardwalk Empire with Rosetti as No. 1 but now Gillian Darmody goofed it up. Also Nucky seems to be a nicer murderer than before this episode.

Yea, he crushed. The writers finally managed to get him on screen without forcing him to be some cartoon villain.

Was also my favorite episode of the season. I think a decent number of people ITT rate episodes based on liters of blood + number of breasts. It's really not that type of show.

This, basically. Capone's line reminds me of Dany in s2 of GoT. There are interesting things happening there, but its so far from the central focus of the show that its necessarily underdeveloped. Arcs that deserve 30+ minutes resolving in 10 is not good television.

Its pretty much how do you discuss 20's bootlegging with out discussion of Capone. The show takes liberties with a lot of this stuff, I mean there is no real life Gyp Rosetti who's becoming the season major antagonist.

Sepinwall confirmed that it was his wife's family.

I thought this episode was awesome on it's own. Obv would like some more action, especially considering last week's.
