I was down with Margaret until she starting boning the Irish dude. Now I just want her to get Darmody'd

except that gambling at that time was much more focused on the rackets in nyc and major cities around the country. Bugsy wouldn't even get to vegas for another 20 years

Hmm, is this show worth watching? I've been meaning to check out s2 and get back on but idk never got around to it. Thought s1 was solid. Good, not great show. Did it get better?

GOT, BB, uh... not a lot of show shows I'm more of a cinephile. Remember I did see s1 and thought it was solid just low on my priority to continue. I'm a huge Michael Shannon fan - prob my favorite actor - that's a good part of why I'm thinking of getting caught up.

The show is very cinematic, and if you liked S1 you'd probably like S2 as well.

I think it's a top 5 show so I'm a little biased.

Loved how it was shot. Loved the cast. The story idk just wasn't feeling it. Really watched it actively trying to fall in love and it fell flat too often. Curious if it redeemed itself. Meh I'll watch it I guess. So far behind tho. :/

That's neither here nor there and doesn't actually negate what I was saying. Besides, the show isn't 100% factual. For instance, Carrie Duncan isn't a real person.

Vegas was clearly foreshadowed in the last episode. If you don't think they'll go further with that then it's up to you.

It's not 100% factual but stays on course with the developments of the historical period. Vegas isn't going to be involved at all IMO (outside of a reference or two) What do you think was going on in Vegas in 1923?

Think they'll just start WW2 in 1925 also? Maybe prohibition will go on into the 50s too...

It's a desert stopover for GIs - but seriously, this show has enough issues with jumping from place to place.

BE > BB by a wide margin to me. I think you should give it another chance

But I've always been a history nerd and my dad had ties to AC, so I'm bias in that way.

Does that take away from the show for you? I think they do a good job, and the main focus is on NYC, AC and Chicago. At different points I've been most interested in each one of those.

I also love how AR is portrayed. Can't get enough of him.

Yeah, I think you'd like it. FWIW I thought season 2 had markedly better long-term story arcs than season 1.

For people commenting about historical accuracy, I was actually worried that when Capone walked into the flower shop they would uh deviate from history.
Spoiler:
O'Banion was killed in his flower shop in 1924, a year later than where the show is atm

lol I'm not saying Vegas will be a full blown city any time soon. Just that it will likely become more involved, if even in passing. I stick by it.

I don't have the exact lines anymore as I deleted the episode. At the Egyptian party, some guy jokes about imagining a desert with untold treasures within and Nucky says "I already have" or something similar. It was 100% a Vegas reference but it could have just been homage or a throwaway. I recognized it as foreshadowing though.

I'm ok with being wrong on this one so it's all good.

Random Guy I dont know : "It's hard to imagine. A worthless desert as far as the eye can see but right there under foot, a treasure of untold millions"

Nucky : "I can imagine it actually ..."

I (naively?) figured he was making a reference to the big box of jewellery that he brought after.

everytime Slater says "Ma'am" to Margaret it takes me about 3 seconds to realize he's not calling her "mom"

Did I miss something, or was that a one-time thing with a promise that it'd never be done again?

I took that as a jab to Margaret by Nucky re: land
