Binged the 6 eps after recommendation from a friend. Almost gave up after 1st episode, which could have been 20 min shorter. Glad I didn't give up cause 2nd ep was amazing.

2 4 6 5 1 3

Regarding ep 3, the definitely wanted to imply kid was a pedo. After knowing the ending, there are a bunch of hints like Kansas mentioned. Kid locks his door to prevent his sister from accessing his laptop; he broke down in the car when Bronn from GoT mentioned they have all the files on his computer. Everything before then seems sort of normal for a awkward teenage kid who wanted to prevent a video of him masturbating going public. After that is when he starts doing crazy stuff.

How did he win that fight though?

San Junipero > Hated in the Nation > Playtest > Shut Up and Dance > Men Against Fire > Nosedive

Unsure about the order of the last two, but the rest I'm somewhat firm om

Seen Playtest, Shut Up & Dance and San Junipero so far

Playtest
Spoiler:
Actually thought this was the worst BM episode OAT for me. I mean it was good, awesome, but not up to BM standards. Ending felt really contrived, didn't like the idea of the phone ringing having an impact on it. Didn't leave me thinking either, which is sort of the point of BM

Shut Up & Dance
Spoiler:
I thought it was extremely clear the kid was a pedo. Agree 100% with all the other posts in this thread, but I felt the ending did salvage it.

I actually thought the end of the episode was supposed to make you feel like justice had been served. Decent enough episode

San Junipero
Spoiler:
Holy ****

Holy ****ing ****
Holy ****ing **** that was good. Will need to think about it, but possibly even top 3.

Question about Playtest - Where do people that liked Playtest rate Entire History of You?

Cause I kind of feel like there would be real correlations there. People probably think both are amazing or both overrated

I wasn't a big fan of playtest but I did quite like the entire history of you.

tho entire history of you was pretty forgettable and not one of my favs it was enjoyable enough while watching it.

finally watched all of the new ones, thoughts and rankings below (inserting into rankings of older ones)

1. White Bear
2. San Junipero: this is such an incredible episode of television. White Bear is above it only because White Bear is the perfect Black Mirror episode...San Junipero is a better TV episode. Both are terrific.

decent gap

3. White Christmas
4. Be Right Back

decent gap

5. Entire History of You
6. Playtest: would be in the top 4 if it had ended one twist earlier
7. Stand Up and Dance: I think this may grow on me and be higher in the future
8. National Anthem
9. Million Merits

tremendous, enormous gap

10. Nosedive: thought it was poorly written thematically and kind of boring, although the tech and premise were decently interesting
11. Waldo
12./13. Men Against Fire and Hated in the Nation: these both elicited no emotional or thought provoking response from me, which is the worst possible thing this kind of show can do

6 was a third rate X-Files episode. 4 is possibly GOAT for all seasons.

I guess I'll be the first to say #5 (Men Against Fire) was my favorite. It felt like an accurate portrayal of how we already deal with the morality of war. Make sure the enemy is viewed as something other than human. An auspicious home life worth fighting for. We use propaganda very similarly to the masks in the episode. There was some dialogue suggesting that's what they were going for when Doug Stamper was like "Part of you needs to be willing to accept the lie you're being told." And you get a good feel for what happens when someone rejects that view and tries to take an honest look at what's really going on. On top of that it had all the Black Mirror suspense and twists and feeling of emptiness by the end of the episode that makes this show unique.

I've got 6 next (Hated in the Nation) not amazing but it was an interesting story. Then 1 (Nosedive), basically the opposite. I thought the story had been done a million times before, wasn't all that enlightening and pretty predictable but good acting. Substantial drop then 2 (Playtest). Good visuals and kind of fun trying to figure out what was actually happening but if there was anything deeper than that I missed it. Plus I'm still not entirely sure what was happening, which isn't a good thing. 3 was at the bottom (SUAD) and probably the only episode I wouldn't want to watch again. I basically just agree with RBK's assessment.

Didn't rate #4 (SJ) because it was on another level, loved it though.

4>>>2>3>>1>5>>6. 6 didn't even feel like a Black Mirror episode. Still pretty good by TV standards generally other than being unnecessarily long, but it had a completely different vibe to it. 4 is my new favorite Black Mirror episode.

Since watching Episode 4, I've listened to "Heaven is a Place on Earth" a few times by Belinda Carlisle. Below is the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CxgMvxvVdo

Lyrics:

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven, love comes first
We'll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

When the night falls down
I wait for you and you come around
And the world's alive with the sound
Of kids on the street outside

When you walk into the room
You pull me close and we start to move
And we're spinning with the stars above
And you lift me up in a wave of love

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven love comes first
We'll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

When I feel alone, I reach for you
And you bring me home
When I'm lost at sea I hear your voice
And it carries me

In this world we're just beginning
To understand the miracle of living
Baby, I was afraid before
But I'm not afraid anymore

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth.
They say in heaven love comes first
We'll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

In this world we're just beginning
To understand the miracle of living
Baby, I was afraid before
But I'm not afraid anymore

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
They say in heaven love comes first
We'll make heaven a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth

They did start and end with it. Possibly true.

"Girlfriend in a Coma" was a song used in the show that in hindsight gave a hint as to the girl's condition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GhoWZ5qTwI
