But among the assorted digital-era doomsaying, Brooker divulged a curious detail about one of his less-bleak episodes. “San Junipero” proved a fan favorite from last season’s new crop, weaving a yarn of fragile love between Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis in an idyllic plane wherein all is not as it seems. Brooker brought the high-concept romance up when asked if he ever had to leave any ideas on the cutting-room floor because they were too sad, too dark, or otherwise too extreme. He recalled one nixed detail for the assembled crowd: “In San Junipero, there was going to be a sequence in which Gugu’s character is spending some time in a kindergarten, and you realize subsequently that those were all deceased children she was spending time with. We realized that’d just be too sad.”
would be pretty easy to make that the conclusion when they show a rep talking with a parent outside the lukemia ward of a hospital with a bunch of kids in beds in the background.
I don't know if we're doing spoiler tags or what, but I just watched Shut Up and Dance and had a quick question that's been bugging me:
Spoiler:
So in the end we find out he was filmed jerking it to CP, but how could a laptop cam do that? It can only show his face looking at the screen. They would have needed a camera behind him, or some sort of way to actually show he was actively looking at the child porn - Am I missing something?
If they hacked the entire laptop, they should have proof of not just what was being shown through the camera but also what is on the desktop/screen.
Spoiler:
Right, but that still doesn't mean anything. It's like, if they had video of me jerking off, and then they had a separate screen capture of CP. How can anyone tell it was the CP I was jerking it to? Doesn't seem like much proof to me - certainly nothing I'd rob a bank and kill someone over.
Can't wait. On a possibly related note, there's a new anthology series coming to channel 4 in the UK called Philip K Dick's Electric Dreams. Bryan Cranston and Steve Buscemi are included in the cast. I'll definitely be watching this.
