I think SUaD is being overlooked as a warning on the loss of privacy and especially the vulnerability of people less adept at technology. People are more and more dependent on technologies they don't understand and can be used against them.
I mean ultimately it might be a sad ending with the implication that eventually everyone loses the ability to feel something because of immortality but in the immediate sense I think it was a happy ending.
