Have to say I was 100 % expecting to be shown someone who´s watching/recording all of this, preferably one of Axelrod´s goons.

I'm glad that big headed monster Dan Soder got some screen time, he's a great stand up comedian. He was the guy that instigated the competition between the other brokers, and brought the crowd to watch some schmuck eating cake off his desk. There was some bet going on, I think Soder was in for 5 hundy.

Yea I definitely see Axe finding out about his sexual deviance and blackmailing him with it.

The problem is we all see it coming. I hope it doesn't happen like that.

Yeah in a perfect world Rhoades decides that the ultimately humiliation (to satisfy his constant thirst) would be to let Axe treat him like his man-biatch while simultaneously letting Axe capital get away with it all. In the penultimate scene Axe pees on Rhoades, and proclaims:

"now that's a steady STREAM of income"

I really want to like this show but something is missing.

I don't know how to describe my beef with it though.

Maybe it's the lack of compelling story lines. Right now the entire show is basically a dick measuring contest between two powerful men. I'll keep watching but I'm not excited to watch it like I am with other shows.

Yea this was ****. I'm done, I dont even get how this **** even gets made. Does the scene in the DA's office with Axe ever go down like that? Can Giamotti even verbally change a deal like that? Why did they ruin the true motive of the hot ub/pool scene before it happened? I dunno if I'm over analyzing this but it just seems like horrible writing, even for Showtime.

Yeah literally fell asleep halfway through. I think the premise of the show is a little weak to be honest. Why does Giametti have such a hard on for captain winters? They should have sort of let that develop organically rather than having the US attorney going HAM against winters right from episode one.

I think this show is really good. If you are falling asleep while watching it, maybe it's just not your type of show.

I think the problem is the characters.

I don't give a **** what happens to anyone. None of them are compelling, they all are just so bland.

easily the best line of the episode! Dollar Bill's a badass.

I think the problem may be they didn't want to go full sleazy. That would have been a better show, embrace the kinky sleaze. All the money stuff gets kinda boring once we know how rich Axe is. He's really rich, yawn.

C+ show at best - but what else is better on now?

Episodes are pretty hit and miss so far and this one was a big miss. Absolute crawling pace and the big confrontation at the end did not deliver.

Not sure how Giamatti's fake recusal is going to be possible. Also his Dad sucks and is one of the show's worst characters.

That settlement at the end was really stupid. No lawyers, especially DA, offer a deal and then change it once accepted. Just mind boggling. Show tries too hard to create drama

Asked fiancée if she got that. She said no. So she's never seen usual suspects. Guess that's on the watch list.

It's especially dumb because at the beginning of that first episode they discuss the idea/concept of going after Axe and straight up say that it would take a long time to do. The scene made me think it would be towards the end of the first season where the DA finally decides to make his move.

Nope. Later that episode it's time to go for it lol

What exactly do you think they were doing in the room? They were finalizing the deal. It is not a deal until it is a deal lol. How do you think it works?

Personally the jump cut from a deal essentially being brokered my naked siff to phone calls and celebrations (how does his dad know about the deal but he has to call and tell attorney general's secretary rob morrow) was annoying.

I do agree that having this showdown so early on I hope and assume they have a plan for the show. Given the set up of the show it doesn't make sense if the conflict is resolved and it's hard to believe they both got so close but now are going to fight for five years.

Eh the show is starting to bug me. The conflict of interest thing is silly. Either she has to quit axe capital or he has to recuse himself. In real life it would have never gone near as far as it did with such a direct conflict of interest.

The creators of the show are not really known for keeping things tight so I guess I will just have to accept sloppy or stop watching. I continue to watch for now. It is dangerous that none of the main characters are even a little bit empathetic.

I liked the last episode. Am I the last person to figure out Axe's lawyer was the killer in True Detective season one?
