from my understanding of it, tv work has a lot of upside in that it's stable and steady, you know what your schedule is tomorrow, you know what it'll be in 3 months, etc etc

when making films you may have to be on set at 4am one day and 2 pm the next day, the movie will take 6-9 weeks to film so you can't quite plan ahead too well and you're probably on location half the time living out of a hotel room

it's nice to live in your house, grind regular hours, be able to make plans easily, etc etc

he's also unlikely to get many more leading roles in films yet likely still commands top dollar from showtime

i've always viewed him as the perfect candidate to play ignatius j reilly if a confederacy of dunces ever gets out of production hell and actually gets made

What else?

What is it specifically about Showtime?
Don't forget Weeds, Shameless, The Affair, Nurse Jackie and Masters of Sex. It's almost funny how they follow the formula of starting great and finishing terrible.

Showtime is and has been for a very long time, a verb. Every show they have, I consider the commitment it will involve. I almost never quit shows but I’ve quit like 5 of their shows lol

Trailer for the "final" season just dropped and Axe is back - wonder if they begged him to so they could end the series properly.

Four episodes in, and not a single post. Silence says a lot.

If there's one mini arc that encapsulates how subpar the show is now, it's when the former AG who Chuck got locked up laughs him out of his cell at first, but then when Chuck brings him a pair of cowboy boots, which presumably anyone who visits him could have done so, he's rip roaring to go to bat for him?

That and Axe's kid, who's what, like 15 or 16, is trading crypto for him, and no one bats an eyelash about it?

And Prince's campaign manager, who's the creepiest person on the planet, happens to know lawsuit details about a company Prince is investing in but his trader somehow didn't?

Okay, I'm stopping now before the floodgates truly open....

Only watched two so far.

Definitely have to suspend disbelief and just have fun watching the show.

Axe's kid, Gordie, trading crypto on a phone(!) and quoting Gordon Gekko.

The trader knew about the lawsuit but didn't tell Prince? Prince accusing him of hiding it or not knowing.

Almost forgot: Liar's Poker. I know someone who saves bills for that game too.

Yes, so much silly stuff.

Like betting on the name of a hurricane that hasn't been announced, but is about to, when those names are set years in advance and anyone can look them up.

And I bitch about this every year, but I can't stand a show about the stock market and seeing all the computer screens with charts everywhere but all just pictures that don't move during a trading day. Come on!

I think this seasons actually been solid so far. Of course you have to suspend belief, but that's the name of the game with this show.

Really enjoying seeing Wags back on the rise

I was actually hoping they were doing two half seasons because I have no idea how they can tie everything up in one more episode besides just rushing the ending.

Show should have ended when Axe left.

Okay so I'm hoping that there is an episode twelve and I'm just behind, because if that was the series finale it massively sucked.

Last ep was decent, they wrapped up every pretty well, though it felt a bit rushed.

Great news for the cringe embracers, they're planning to make four spin offs lolol

Millions, Trillions, Billions: Miami & Billions: London. Apparently the Miami spin off is going to be the first and is being written at the moment, though I imagine the writers strike will delay that if it's still going on.
