Exactly. Quantity does not equal quality. I think most of US TV shows would be so much better if they were tighter. Too often they are either "problem of the week" (House, Flash, Arrow...) or have a lot of filler episodes (Walking Dead, Agents of the Shield...).
I very well understand why things are this way (to get max the value), but I really hope things change in coming years. There just are way more things to watch than people have free time.

As for Billions, I just don't see how season 1 can stay good this long without starting to include a lot of outside characters and plot elements that don't matter in the big picture. I'm very certain we are not reaching any closure at the end of this season anyways.
