Didn't realize there was a point

went on a multi month trek and broke phone and laptop right before it started so lost trusted device and 2fa and had to move mountains to reclaim online life, since i was going to be hiking in mountains anyway figured just let it be and not deal with any of it until i was done

it was actually a blessing to be disconnected for so long

when i got back, my consulting work started coming in hard and since habits were all broken by then just stayed away for a while

on vacation now so using this time to get back into the swing of things

haven't watched much tv at all, but just saw this thread as i try to catch up on my threads and was reminded how deeply disapointed this show left me

right up there with ballers, a guilty pleasure that straddled the line of being a great show but then just decided to turn it into a parody of itself, tried catching up on ballers recently too... my god that show quickly got awful

i gave up on ballers pretty fast. not even sure i made it through s1. it was bad.

ballers was fine for a couple of seasons. it was never actually good, but it was fine.

as it went on it got really, really bad. in the final season i mainly just had it on in the background while playing on my phone. at the end of one of the episodes something happened (no spoilers!) that literally caused me to say 'wait, what?' and rewind. my mouth was agape like a cartoon character. it was just stunningly bad writing, but probably wasn't the worst thing that happened that season. and i love the rock, but you know he genuinely thought all that talking to the camera stuff was amazing, powerful television.

Been marathon’ing this the last couple weeks since I ran out of shows. Never planned on watching it since I’m kind of done with Showtime. Just started season 5.

It took awhile to get in to but its become quite fun. I’m still not 100% convinced that Spieros and Ira aren’t the same person lol

Any update on the resumption of season 5? They finished filming a while ago...

Just watched the ep. Probably one of the all time GOAT shows. Writing is absolutely brilliant. Perfect way to kick back off.

The gap bugged me more than I thought - it just felt disjointed more than I figured would occur. But that's what 15 months, and stopping midseason, can do I suppose.

Picking nits here too, but they were trying too hard to have Chuck and Wags do Chuck and Wags typical things - enough already, we get who they are and how they act; no need to hit us over the head with it.

Axe and Taylor were and remain superb though, and it was great to see Chuck get "ambushed" again when he visited a prison. Well played.

I did not like it much. 4/10.

Decent enough start. Have they announced a final season yet? Cause at the end of ep9 (2 since comeback) that is the dream team and would make for a good last lap. I know that Showtime is gonna Showtime, but if that team tries and fails and or even succeeds, just end the show.

I do like how the show used rock bands and such. Nice Neil Peary and EVH tributes in this ep!!

IMDB scores look bleh. Should I bother with the last season? So much better TV on.

E9 was paint by numbers. Yes, hindsight is 20/20; however, everything seemed pretty well foretold. And picking nits, but LOL at any universe where a frozen pizza, no matter how well made, would look anything like that coming out of a household oven.

When the scene was about some great homemade pizza that could be frozen and then out of the oven from home, Jesus, how about at least serving it hot so it doesn't look like a piece of rubber. lol

But that how they roll on that show. Like I mentioned before how annoying it is to be in a place that trading is the business and have monitors all over with charts on them that never move. The best was the latest episode with time and sales and even that was not moving. lol
