Geez, I was almost impressed, for the 1st time when a poker scene was on TV it wasn't being completely butchered, aside from bet sizing. Even talk of GTO, Stop and go, etc. and then taking a break to talk with coach in the middle of a hand. lol

+1. The two player to a hand drama was sooooo lol, but

Spoiler:
The final hand with the great T-high read was so out of the ordinary, and also Axe bricking his river--- so many times in that spot we see the 4 outer hit on TV

I thought the brilliance wa AX Breaking QUICKLY. it was over no 4 outer. I thought they played the final hand with balls. She new she could take in at any time but knocking him out this way would assure the ultimate goal of breaking the soft lad.

Yeah I cringed so hard when that happened but all in all poker was more accurately represented throughout the episode than in any other popular TV show/movie I can think of.

The final hand being a bluff catch with not-absurd logic behind it was awesome. When I saw the 4h5h I was gearing up for a straight flush vs quads stereotypical hand. Mentions of screen names, multi-tabling, black friday, prop bets, etc. Was a fun episode to watch.

as a nvg thread already pointed out, the final hand was an actual nod to a real hand that happened once w/ stu ungar and some guy at a hu-finale in a tournament. I think they did it well, her reasoning was well enough for the avg crowd and not superly overdone for suspense. It felt believable and her character feels with the info we gotten so far "believable" in realm of tv.

Feel like they should have picked up a flush draw on the turn, the turn call was atrocious, they called with ten high no draw. Like obviously they were playing exploitativly thinking munchkin was bluffing way too much but that turn call is just taking it way too far. If they're calling with T9 then they are calling with literally everything.

True. Flush draw makes more sense, or have the turn checked through. I loved that it was an homage to the classic Ungar hand though.

The 'coaching' during a hand, eye-rolling I agree, but there have been some goofball made-for-TV poker tournaments that have allowed that. This 'Alpha Cup' being a charity event it's not so out of the realm.

The poker stuff was surprisingly decent. I liked the mention of black friday and some other things, they certainly did their research. There is definitely some kings in his range and some slowplayed stuff too. See his set of 3 on a drawy board.

The show is meh tho, it's just over narcissism scene after scene. It's funny at first but it gets boring.

Episode was epic. Discussion of space exploration incredibly poignant, to Wags' Yosemite Sam related *** tattoo. Chuck playing his dad and opening daylight on the Boyd investigation, then Axe's NFL gambit reveal. Damn fun. They can't keep things going at that pace forever, but I think they just proved the show can have good longevity with plenty of threads to pull on.

I'm quitting this, **** all these outlandish people and contrived situations anyway. Seems less like trashy fun and more like bad tv to me lately.

If Axe warns him when he finds out, what is he going to do? Flee the country? Didn't seem like it would make much of a difference for the guy.

Canning the woman keeping him on the straight and narrow could be a big turning point in Axe's downfall.

Agree on both points. I suppose if given the opportunity, it wouldn't be too hard for a billionaire to figure out how to get away fast when necessary, but given the timeframe, it was probably a no hope.

Felt like his wife didn't really deserve that either, will be interesting to see the backlash next week. Hate having to wait week to week for each episode.
