So that omelet scene was a thing? I don't really get it.
Also, that was the weakest ep I've seen probably since the show started. Even the whole Wags/girl thing was predictable. And Axe and Wendy just doesn't make any sense as a romantic thing, it totally takes away from the edge of the show.
before i begin, i thought 80-90% of that was actually pretty good. this is grading on a curve but that was definitely the best episode of this season and probably most of last season.
anyway, so as we approached these last few episodes i was convinced we were going to go into some ice juice style shenanigans with super misleading scenes, things happening offscreen, and everyone being the smartest person in the room. i thought the whole jefferson dinner was going to be chuck is pretending, and axe knows that, but chuck knows axe knows that, but axe knows chuck knows axe knows that, and so on.
and i have no doubt there IS going to be some stupid stuff in the last episode, and probably a twist, but i'm now much less sure what after watching axe look flummoxed.
so here is my prediction: wendy saw through the bad acting from the young crazy chick, sensed there was a ruse, and took it to wags anyway, presenting it clumsily as a 'hypothetical' that she knew he'd run with. i can't see any reason why this makes a lick of sense, but similarly i just don't buy that wendy (who is frequently portrayed as THE smartest in the room) would get fooled and throw her ethics quickly out the window.
anyway it's a long shot so feel free to laugh at me when it's completely wrong. i guess what's more likely it was the lovey doveyness that threw both wendy and axe off their games and led to his (no doubt incredibly fleeting) demise, but that seems like pretty meh writing too.
Nice!! I like that it’s so soon. I’m hoping more of the delayed shows do the same. Hell, it was because of that I ended up watching this show to begin with!
Didn't realize all that had happened to Axe behind the scenes, so it was a good way to write him out as the main character. But he's an iconic part of the show. Like Suits, I can't see it surviving long without him.
Wanted to enjoy the finale, and overall I did when push came to shove, but the nitpicker in me couldn't get past how unrealistic it was that Axe could "lose his tail" to get on the plane or that Wags could get out of his predicament so easily. And Chuck vs. Prince going from 0 to 60 so fast was just too much. Will I keep watching? Yes, but I'm not optimistic.
