Was talking with my wife about this. She hates Sorkin dialogue too. I think the main difference between this show and Sorkin is pacing. In a Sorkin show, two characters will jibber at each other like two rabbits on speed. Billions allows for some pause, some breath in the conversations. Kinda like real humans talking instead of Sorkin created automatons with the Sorkin dialogue patch installed.
This coming from a guy who has Sports Night as one of his all time favorite shows.
Also, I think the Billions writers hate writing for the wife. Her character is almost entirely unneeded. It's no surprise we haven't seen her for two episodes now.
