9 women, 7 men from what I can tell; I thought casts always had equal gender balance?

I see 8 and 8. I'm gonna give it a go again this season. Last season I stopped watching after week 1. Hopefully I like this cast more.

Cast seems pretty good. This is the first time I've thought this in a while but I also can't wait to be proven wrong.

There hasn't been too much game talk so far. Despite that I'm really liking this cast and I still have high expectations.

People I particularly like so far:

Paloma- she reminds me a little of Kaitlin Herman who I loved as a character. I don't think she'll be a good player but she is playing the hardest so far which I enjoy watching. For some reason I really like her and Alyssa together. They make me laugh which is unexpected.

Monte- just seems funny and cool and everyone likes him.

Daniel- acting like he's not a superfan even though I think he's seen every season of US and Canada. I think he needs to solidify a real alliance as first HOH though.

Pooch- reminds me a little of Zach Rance but I can see myself getting annoyed by him at some point. He's probably having the second most game talks.

Ameerah- Seems smart and everyone seems to like her

Nicole- everyone also likes her and she has the chef role so that's always a plus

Day 2 winner pick is Ameerah but it's obviously just a random guess at this point.

Another note: I haven't really watched much of the "girls alliance" talks but if it turns out to be some form of Ameerah Nicole Paloma Alyssa I could see it being a stronger alliance than most other all girls alliances in terms of both comp wins and staying together. I think it all hinges upon Nicole wanting to actually work with them. I don't know if she was even included so this may all be a moot point but I can see the 2 older women keeping the group in check. Again this is day 2 so I can be completely wrong but this is one of the first all girls alliances I've seen that I didn't think was doomed from the start.

I went back and saw Nicole and Taylor are the 2 girls not included in the alliance. I have seen talks of including Nicole but if that doesn't happen it's way more likely to fail.

Right after I wrote that a whole bunch of game talk happened.

The 6 person alliance of Monty Pooch Kyle Paloma Alyssa Ameerah has been solidified with everyone except for Ameerah (I'm behind on feeds so maybe she knows by now) but I like this alliance a lot.

Catching up on late last night it seems like Monte is skeptical of adding Pooch to the 6 person alliance which is probably correct. Monte Kyle and Paloma talked about adding Joe or Michael instead of Pooch. The only thing is that Pooch pretty much started this alliance and knows it was close to being formed. He doesn't know 100% but he will have some idea if he's not included.

Pooch plans on taking Kyle and Monte up to Daniel to form an alliance together so that could change how Monte feels about Pooch. This is lowkey probably saving Monte or Kyle from going on the block but they are unaware of this.

I couldn’t even watch the last half of the premiere. I was so bored. Not sure if I’ll give this season a second shot.

Daniel must have seen Frenchie last year because he is having one of the worst week 1 HOH's ever by doing the exact opposite basically. Not in a big alliance. Thinks he's running everything when he's not. Him and Nicole think they are running everything and no one knows they're close. Meanwhile everyone knows they have a final 2 and just tells each of them how much they like the other one. Even Paloma has clocked the exact alliance Daniel has formed.

The feeds have honestly been great imo. The episode was crap but that's expected with a first episode. I may just subconsciously be comparing this to last year and that's why I'm liking it so much but I do still have high expectations.

People I still like:

Paloma- just as a character. she knows Big Brother the least of any HG. I think if she knew the show well she'd have a chance to win but she's basically drawing dead but I love watching her play

Ameerah- but the way she tried to convince Daniel who to put up made me realize she doesn't know how to manipulate people at all.

Monte- just playing well socially and not on anyone's radar

Pooch- needs to tone it down but he's not playing badly so far

Michael- won veto to save himself. got incorporated into the big alliance. It'll be interesting to see if Michael works with the big alliance.

Michael's initial reaction was hell no but he seems to be more up for the idea. I think the reason he said hell no was because Paloma came to him and said hey there's a 6 person alliance formed and you're in it. They all genuinely want it to be a 6 person alliance who works together but because Paloma doesn't know how it works she made it seem to Michael like there was a 5 person alliance formed and now Michael is in. That is pretty much true because initially they wanted Pooch but the other 5 are 100% down as of now to have Michael's back and work together. I think a lot of his game will come down to how much he trusts them (he should for now at least) and if he tells Brittany about this alliance (he shouldn't) because she is a super paranoid person.

I should've mentioned that basically the feeds are only good very late at night. Everyone is kumbaya when in big groups and the backyard hasn't been open much but when they do game talk I'm enjoying it.

I'll also say they're probably not for everyone. I know I'm in the minority liking both Paloma and Pooch but I like watching them play (till they burn out)

Brittany (paranoia) Indy (knows less about the show than Victoria) Nicole (because she's so wrong about most things) and to a lesser extent Taylor and Jasmine are people I don't care to watch on the feeds too much.

This is the same phenomenon that had me hating Paul the first night of feeds. People are just too on. I like when these people have rapport and have actual conversations like human beings. Theyre all currently just trying to make good impressions on their houseguests/cameras.

Paloma seems to really be on 11. I wont judge her yet but early returns say that she drinks a lot of Dumb Bitch Juice.
She might be great to watch just as a freakshow but on the surface, she sucks.

People in the chat were saying Alyssa is boring. Imo, Alyssa has the correct enthusiasm level for someone on day 3 of a 12 week game.

It’s an incredibly insane environment. And I have learned from Paul not to judge people from the early feeds.

I dont know. I watched 15-20 minutes. I dont think I even saw half the cast. Nor did I know everyone’s names. But I personally need things to settle in before I get any enjoyment out of watching them.

I agree with everything you're saying. Like I said maybe I just like this season so far is because I didn't like last season at all. I agree about Alyssa. I just never mention her because to me her and Paloma are together. Not personality wise but game wise they're a pair. I think she'll be the better player of the 2.

I don't think Paloma is dumb but she is definitely big brother dumb. She is by no means smart though.

Taylor has one of the all time worst social games. 0 self awareness and 0 social skills. But of course she's only disliked because everyone else is racist including the other POC.
