Gameplay is important but it's not the end all of what makes a great BB player. To me it's the social game that trumps everything. You have to make people want to vote for you in the end and feel good about it. Dan in s14 wasn't even that big of a villain and he played by far the best strategic game, but the cast just didn't feel right about giving Dan their vote and awarding him the money. Ian was a much easier choice. A lot of people knew he played the best game but they felt used and manipulated by him, found it overall distasteful the way he treated some of the people in the house.
I don't know why there's so much hate for Austin's game this season. To me, he's playing the perfect game this year. His social relationships with the house is top notch and I can see him taking it all if he makes it to the end. He's also playing a great strategic game as well being the center of virtually every big decision made. Vanessa's game has a giant gaping hole, her social connections with people in the house. There's a reason Jackie, Becky and John hate her with as much venom as they do. These are the type of people who don't like to be talked down to and made to feel like they're being used.
So when I hear a fanboy itt say that Vanessa is a top 5 player in BB history, I can only laugh because it's complete and utter lunacy.
Delusion at its finest.
