ian terry is an all-american nerd that you can take home to the family, so obviously going to be very likable unless he does something egregious.
andy herren played a really great game of BB. it's just that he revealed himself as having no moral compass. it's generally good advice to never trust people in real life, who display morally bankrupt views in a machiavellian manner like he did. also, given that he's an intelligent gay man, some people probably had higher expectations from him, which added fuel to the outrage.
vanessa is a math nerd who discussed with steve how they got perfect math SAT scores. math geniuses tend to translate reality into numbers. it can be annoying or intimidating if you're not one of them. sometimes they don't realize that most people can't even distinguish 50/50 from 75/25, or 1 in 10 from 1 in 100. i'd love to hear her reasoning behind her probabilities. it might be really clever or really dumb.
still she shouldn't talk like that in front of others in the BB house, just for her safety. but i'm surprised people are not picking up how intelligent she is, maybe because she's a girl? although, they must also not understand how elite duke university is. maybe it's just a college bball school to them.
i'm impressed in discovering becky's social sense, even though we've still seen no strategic acumen from her. i agree with whoever said it's better than jason's. becky seemed to pick up on cues in her conversation so fluidly, possibly showing she has a higher social ceiling. given she's not a BB diehard, it may just be her natural social intuition on display. i love when people in real life can nail down every relationship for you. i'm really interested in vanessa's opinion of becky, and vice versa. i want to get a better idea of how much of it was just luck.
still no one seems to see through vanessa. it reminds me of sklansky mentioning the difficulty people have in distinguishing intelligence differences among people who are clearly smarter than them. they may just view vanessa as a quirky girl, and not realize her brain is running parallel simulations of every possible permutation. however, she ****ing went to duke. you can't ask for a bigger clue than that.
Everyone knows and openly talks about how smart Vanessa is. I think and hope she is throwing out those % to her alliance because she knows they have no idea if she is right or wrong but it sounds more credible if she says 90% chance of final 5 or whatever. And they all believe her.
yeah, jason is 97.2451763% gone. clelli should be keeping SS votes unified. i'm not sure why jason wasn't more active. i wonder how much of it is rob cesternino's advice of "just go to sleep for the first couple of weeks, because you can only lose the game".
i really think that's bad advice with the BOTB format. it's imperative that you are in whatever super alliance forms in the first couple of weeks. last season that 8 person alliance pretty much held, minus devin who went mental. this season, the SS plus julia is holding strong and audrey went mental. spend all your time with the HOH winners and you'll probably get into whatever alliance is formed there, and coast to the late mid game.
i wonder what possible lines jason can take at this point, since he's pretty much dead.
I wouldn't put it past Clay and Shelli to flip alliances one more time. But that's unlikely given that they know that Jason would be gunning for them eventually because of Day.
