Better Call Saul (season 6): The Final Season Better Call Saul (season 6): The Final Season

Yeah, I thought that was disappointing. At least get an extra or two, have Nacho gun them down, then get killed in a hail of return fire. Didn't really understand why it went the way it was portrayed.

Nacho doesn't want to get wounded and then tortured. Also he doesn't want to end up paralyzed from the neck down and living for years like Hector. He wants to ensure a quick painless death.

Of course, if any of those scenarios look like they are going to happen, Mike will euthanize Nacho with a sniper shot. But Nacho doesn't know that.

yeah, yeah

another one of those "limitations of a prequel" things where there was zero drama, despite their effort to conjure some out of thin air

series probably needed more characters who weren't in bb huh

assume it's some "empowering" "going out on his terms" thing, or maybe he figured it played better than their plan of pointlessly running away from a bunch of murderers with guns & vehicles in a desert

and i can't be the only one who thought hector was gonna piss on him at the end

these guys always take the easy way out, no guts no glory

He can’t go out blazing cause that will give them even more reason to go after his dad.

he can't go out blazing bc we know every other character in the scene survives

anyway yeah i bet yelling about how he paralyzed hector and tried to set up lalo won't result in revenge against his dad, they don't seem like the type...

Haha didn’t say it made perfect sense.

Guessing this leads to Mike v. Lalo - which again is kinda lame cause we know who wins

Has Mike encountered Lalo outside of his rifle scope? Seems like they are circling to another Lalo-Kimmy stare down.

Again realistically they would go after his dad anyway and indeed the rest of his family as a form of revenge especially as he cheated them by killing himself.

Has there ever been a show with more teeth brushing scenes than BCS?

BCS:toothbrushing = BB:white family breakfast?

i assume they're building to some stuff here, but ... based on the writing so far, i'm losing my optimism

Sorry if already mentioned (i didnt see).

Anyone else get the feeling Kim pulling the strings on Jimmy now is setting up a Kim that pulls the strings on Saul in BB?

I can see this season overlapping and Walt/Jesse being just a small part of Jimmy/Kim's storyline while she gives him advice during home discussions ("tell the kid buy a nail salon to wash his money" or "just have Heull lift the cigarettes").

Kim was always there but just wasn't on BB.

Kim 100% becomes Wendy now. Gilligan is trying too hard to create doubt by putting them in a scene together.

Guess you need an episode like this once in a while but borrrrriing.

The scene where Jimmy moves the parking sign was so bad. Everything from the delivery of “OH NO, WHO MOVES A CONE?!?!?” to the absurdity of him moving that and getting away juuuust as Howard comes around the corner, seemed like a scene from like How I Met your Mother or something.

Yeah bit of a snoozer, didn't really add anything new aside from Kim knowing Lalo is still alive and Jimmy now repping scumbags, which combined for like five total minutes?

Far too much time spent on ruining Howard and Gus being paranoid, both were already established.

When I was down there a few years ago, the sports bar next door had taken over part of what was his office space, and their fenced patio took over the sidewalk in front. The walk-in door still had the Saul Goodman stuff painted on it though.

I wonder how much it cost to tear all that stuff down for this filming, and how much they (I guess) had to pay the bar to shut down for a little while.

IDK, maybe that place went out of business, and it wasn't such a big deal.

thought that was the best ep of the season so far *shrug*, though i do agree that they waste way too much screen time with their silly little montages that don't add much, and too often undercut themselves by revealing tense situations to be ~nothing

anyway,

Better Call Saul is a mostly pointless show executed at a very high level of craft. It’s like getting a top chef to work a McDonald’s kitchen. I appreciate what goes into it but I wish they just used this talent and effort on a new narrative than a Breaking Bad Easter Egg Show
Quote:
Better Call Saul is like a Smallville type prequel show, basically an Easter Egg and reference delivery vehicle but disguised as a prestige television show. Extremely watchable but full of lyrical camerawork, good acting, and flashy visuals for mostly mid, pointless narrative

I’m on Season 5 and the show increasingly just seems to be there to give every little thing that didn’t need explaining from Breaking Bad an origin

damn, makes good points

Yeah, I love the show but he’s right.... The payoff at the end will make it worth it. I’m most interested in Jimmy/Saul and Kim’s journey but I’m more entertained by the cartel stuff.
