told yall he was back

altho, these scams are pretty dark. and simple. just drugging and robbing people. wonder why he wanted to rob the only nice guy so much. oh, I guess bc he reminded him of Walt.

yeah didnt think that was the best ep......saul finds out walt is heisenberg, meh

then he hustles a few suckers by drugging them

the payoff will probably be good but man this show can really be a grind sometimes, definitely challenges the attention span of the viewer unlike any show i've enjoyed and stuck with

I wonder if Gene has to kill Carol Burnett.

Jimmy being some mastermind and then conducting business at like midnight in Carol Burnett's garbage where she sees and hears him seems like a reach but whatever

Jessie really showed his age. Walt looked basically the same.

agreed

what I got from this ep:

1. saul apparently has a convo with kim and we get no details other than saul was pissed afterwards and kim is in florida (?).
2. gene is reverting to being slippin' jimmy again, with a vengeance, cuz he needs $$$ / is emotionally on tilt/ or both
3. lots of needless BB fan service.

I did enjoy saul's convo with francesca. other than that, definitely the most meh I've felt after an ep this entire season. I hope vince is just lulling us to sleep for a big mindblowing finish.

Jessie was 28 when the show started, he's 42 now...be tough not to

just a way bigger difference in actual real life age than whatever Walt's was, guessing that was why he kept the hat on and it was a pretty brief scene. Anything else would've been tough to do without a CGI job or something

I forget why Walt and Jesse drove Saul out to the desert in the first place...why did they go through the charade of pretending he was about to be killed?

He calls Kim and we can see she shuts down whatever it was he was trying to say. Also a stupid move to call her at work from a phone in or near his new home town, when he knows his secretary's phone is still being tapped.

Cops pull up right before the credits. Did Carol Burnett call them? Or did they pull up at the house he was in?

More tilt: he breaks the guy's window to get in. How is he covering that up now?

I think that's the whole point, he's getting sloppy. Calling Kim, going back to Jeff after saying they were done, breaking into the guy's house rather than just letting it go, none of it makes sense to someone acting rationally and carefully like the Gene we saw in the first 5 seasons, but he's losing patience and wants the thrills of his old life back. It's looking less likely that we're going to see a happily ever after ending for him and Kim, and more like he's headed for self-destruction.

We waited a looong time to learn what happens to Gene in Omaha. Spending all this time on the cab capers is just not getting it done.

I'm now beginning to think he ends up in jail, maybe it ends with Kim visiting him. Actually, all the scams happen after he reacts violently after the call asking about Kim in Florida. Jail? Cancer? Latter seems dark, but there were a lot of allusions to cancer in the episode, including Walt turning to crime to pay for treatment, and it looks like he needs the money for something

Also I had to look up that first mark that made him sing karaoke because I knew I recognised him.

well, Saul or Jimmy is whatever. point is, Gene aint going straight.

now, Im thinking maybe he intended to go straight until that phone call. so what could it have been that made him super angry and desperate for cash? Kim is in trouble in some way. but the cartel is gone so Im thinking she is held by the Feds and he needs money to help her in some way get out of legal problems.

Unless cops catch Jimmy after that B&E, I think there's a pretty non-trivial chance that while watching funny cat videos on Youtube, Carol Burbett gets recommended an old Saul ad, connects the dots, and blows the whole thing open.

The cancer guy thing is just them making Saul less sympathetic, same way they did with Walt and Brock etc. so that we all agree he should get whatever is coming to him.

When they first met ("you need a criminal lawyer"), Walt offered Saul $10K to make sure Badger didn't talk to the DEA. AFter he refused, they took Saul out to the desert to coerce him into doing so.

I’m proud to say that I figured out it was Buzz getting scammed, although it took me a few minutes.

Fascinated to find out what the phone conversation we couldn’t hear was about.

that seems dum and would make me really mad, so yeah it'll prob happen

more likely she just finds some stuff in the garage and calls the cops?

seems like this mark is gonna wake up and catch jimmy. he's not a killer (or maybe?), betting he talks his way out of it. maybe he has a heart to heart with the guy that is about this situation, but is also about everything else. have been waiting forever for him to unload about it all. talks his way out, as usual, but then gets busted or something bc of carol. ironic or whatever.

i'd maybe do something like that idk

also, i was gonna say a few weeks back but realistically would there really be this much heat on him, still? how long has it been now? and why? he's just heisenberg's lawyer. heisenberg is dead, they got hank & gomez back, would they really have this much of a boner for saul?

like sure they'd throw the book at him if they caught him, but i don't really see why there'd still be like a national manhunt for everyone involved. like in breaking bad the dea bosses were telling hank to lay off the heisenberg stuff when the leads went cold for a bit

from an objective and logical standpoint, the cancer guy should be the most justifiable. dude will be dead soon so he has no need for money. he may not even know! I know how quick pancreatic can take a person, dude might not last 2 weeks.

and yet, he was the only person that I felt Saul did a really really bad thing about and was literally screaming for him to abort. lol logic or lol me or bofem.

I enjoy complex scams as much as the next guy, but the department store heist was a little ridiculous - so much went into it - getting to know Marion, building a string model of the floorplan, etc. And all that just to supposedly to get the cabbie off his back? Come on.

The ID theft one seems a bit much, too. Finding the right mark, getting to know him, drinking with him - all at the same bar! - the hose that sucks up the liquor. Just slip a mickey in his drink and be done with it.

And I thought Saul said they were stealing amphetamines, not IDs.

sure seems like they are foreshadowing that she will be a foil for him. how that plays out I dunno.

and the police sirens were def not for this incident. they have done a really good job of making the previews misleading. he proly just goes in without a hitch and gets in trouble later. or the guy is dead and he dips.

I think you undersetimate the police state of the USA. ya the whole FBI wont be looking for him but I am sure there will be a few agents on the case. and really, it shouldnt be hard to track him down.

hell, driving down the highway there are billboards with peoples pictures saying to call for a reward.

its been less than a year. iirc he got "cleaned" in the spring and now its the end of football season.

this is standard Gilligan. also, we have estabished that JimmySaul doesnt just do it for the rewards. he lives for the thrill and the game and the challenge.
