- jeffy being an idiot
- jimkim divorce
- pink man cameo
- jeffy's jail call
- gene/marion showdown, getting busted

I think Jeffy did the best he could. He did not know the cops were there for innocuous reasons, but if Gene just walked out and got into the cab at 3AM, it would probably have raised eyebrows. And possibly when called back after the robbery is reported, cancer guy could have described Gene, the cab, Jeffy, the bar, etc (assuming he wasn't blackout drunk). The whole scam makes no sense if the mark finds out he's been robbed right away.

it was pretty dumb, but of course the plot required him to do something dumb

was thinking that part of the reason he went upstairs and took watches & cigars etc, to cover for the broken window. make it look like a petty robbery

in addition to the just being reckless & self-destructive kinda trying to get caught stuff i mean

Why again did they have to do the burglary when the man is at home?

They needed both the financial account paperwork and passwords, as well as IDs from their wallets. Easier to get both at once, and make sure they aren't caught in the act, if the mark is knocked out.

Does everyone in town have a lock that can be defeated by a piece of tape?

notice Kim wasn't wearing the earrings her mom stole for her....first time without them. Like she's rejecting that part of herself now...the criminal part.

It was a great episode. No doubt about that.

Trying to decide is BCS is better than BB. Feel like it could be, but that might be recency bias. Probably need to rewatch BB as it's been a long time.

I do feel like in general I cared more about the characters of Jimmy and Kim than I did about Walter. But BB may have been a better show plot-wise (BCS spent a lot of time on stuff like Kim helping a bank build new branches, etc.)

I feel like BCS was a better-made show, like the show-runners were really at the top of their game cinematically and story-wise, while parts of those early BB seasons were a little rough. It's a more nuanced show though, with less visceral tension, so it requires a lot more patience and familiarity with the whole Gilligan style to really appreciate. I kind of prefer it in some ways, but BB is obviously one of the greatest shows of all time and a lot of what makes BCS great is that it's building on that universe. I don't think it would work quite as well as a standalone series without having all that background, so in that sense it's hard to say it's better.

Vince Gilligan Preparing New "Wholly Original" and "Thought-Provoking" Series

Quote:
An exclusive report from Deadline detailed Gilligan's newest show, which the outlet described as a "wholly original idea. The untitled show will be "a departure from the world of drugs and crime [Gilligan] explored in Breaking Bad and its prequel, Better Call Saul," according to Deadline. This series will be closer to a genre drama or blending of drama and comedy, with Deadline comparing the show to The Twilight Zone. "Thought-provoking but not a morality tale, the new show is expected to carry the signature Gilligan tone that infuses drama with humor," the report said of the series. In addition, Gilligan has reportedly already written story treatments for the show.

For the first few seasons, my take was that BCS was the better show. Not so much now.

The show hasn’t necessarily gone down hill, as it has still been great to watch. But here we are with one episode left and I cannot think of any possible ending at this point that will be satisfying. I could be wrong and I hope I am.

I have no doubt that the finale is going to be amazing. I can't wait.

As for which show is better, that's such a tough call. BB had peak Gus Fring which may give it the nod. That character was just incredible. Much better imo than the BCS version. But I love both shows.

I fully expect BCS to clean up at the Emmy's this year and I'll be pissed if they don't. Odenkirk. Seehorn and the show should all win.

You can watch BB without having seen BCS (duh) but not the other way around.

I worked with a guy a few years ago after the first 2 seasons of BCS. He called it his favorite show of all time, and he hadn't seen a single episode of BB.

OTOH his favorite scifi show was Babylon 5........

BB’s last few seasons perfected serialized narrative tension. It was UNBEARABLE to wait all week for the next episode. BCS is a mildly entertaining character study.

Aha! The best example of the BB memory necessity is Gus Fring, who didn't reappear until BCS S3. If you don't know the story, he is just a necktie who likes staring at people.

Given that they are starting with an open door, it seems like it would be hard to find a lock that wouldn't be defeated by this method.

The mark walks in under his own power, right? If he has a deadbolt and locks it behind him, tape won't help.
