No.

He realized he was definitely the cause of Chuck's death and instantly transforms into Saul Goodman.

My initial interpretation was that he didn't give a **** about Chuck dying and didn't even care enough to maintain appearances around Howard and Kim for long enough to convince them he was genuinely hurt.

But then I remembered the insurance thing and realized that Jimmy is happy that Howard is the one who think he's to blame when it is Jimmy who caused it. I suppose he figured that he won out in the end.

The look on Kim's face when Jimmy says "It's a cross you'll have to bear."...

and he feeds the fish and starts whistling, she look like she doesn't know him.

I think the insurance thing was spur of the moment, he was there for reason A, then Chuck came up and he just went with the flow.

Not sure how to interpret the final scene.

He already thought he was the cause though, he explained that at the start when he pointed out that all the electric items were thrown out of the house. Now there's a scapegoat instead of himself he can pin it on who's willing to take the blame

Re: Better Call Saul - season 4 - Aug. 6

I mean it's unsurprising that Jimmy wouldn't really feel much about Chuck's death given that it was Chuck that tried to ruin him as a lawyer. But to be so open about his lack of regret is the surprising part. You'd think that he would keep up the charade long enough for Hamlin to leave.

The best part of being a minor league hat collector is that I caught the Albuquerque Isotopes logo hanging off the cab driver's rear view mirror when they were in Omaha. That's what clearly unsettled Jimmy along with the demeanor of the driver.

Very cool catch. Thanks.

That's future Jimmy/Saul/Gene managing a Cinnabon after Breaking Bad went bad.
He paid the guy in the vacuum cleaner store for a new identity and he thinks the cab driver recognized him.

It's been so long since season 3 and with the past/present/future bit I'm feeling a little lost too.

Really? You know that for sure? That flew over my head that that is future jimmy. I mean before being a lawyer he worked at the cinnabon so I thought it was going back to the past again. But maybe so since he was worried about giving info to nurse. Also why did he pass out? I guess we find that out another time.

Re: Better Call Saul - season 4 - Aug. 6

The first scene of every season has been in the post-BB timeline. I think in season 1 they showed him wistfully watching his old Saul commercials to confirm that. That's why he's acting paranoid and trying to keep a low profile. The whole premise of him working at Cinnabon is a reference to a comment he made at the end of BB that that's where he'd end up.

Re: Better Call Saul - season 4 - Aug. 6

Pretty sure the B&W scenes are all future Jimmy

I would think the scene with the cab driver HAS to mean something. There's no reason for the guy not to respond to Jimmy (I don't think he ever spoke at all) & no reason for the cab to just sit there after Jimmy gets out (also the Isotopes thingy).

Then again, what are the odds that the random fare at the hospital just happened to be the guy the cabbie is looking for? If it's a red herring I'll be disappointed.

Re: Better Call Saul - season 4 - Aug. 6

You guys who, after four seasons, haven't realized that the black and white scenes opening each season have been post-BB Jimmy/Saul in hiding as Cinnabon Gene are really bad at watching TV. I'd recommend reading the reaction from Alan Sepinwall, now at Rolling Stone, after each episode.

Public blame? The fire was already many degrees separated from Jimmy.

Re: Better Call Saul - season 4 - Aug. 6

It never occurred to me that the Isotopes' logo is not as instantly recognizable as, say, the Denver Broncos.

That's a bad job by me.

My questions (remember, i'm bad with faces)

-- who was that tailing Nacho? One of Fring's guys, right?
--a girl in a hospital gown walked past Gene's curtain. Wasn't Kim, was it?

NO

People always saying from the beginning how he transforms into Saul after doing this or that. There is not one thing that does it.

He was always Saul Goodman and he is always Jimmy

Jimmy was glad to learn that it wasnt the insurance thing per se , I mean the firm could have chosen to pay more money, but it was Hamlin who forced him out.

Thanks for clearing things up guys. I've always wanted to watch breaking bad from start to finish all over but haven't gotten around to it. For the guys who have watched that series more than once, do you think it has any replay value?

Personal blame. From what I took away Jimmy semi-absolves himself of it because even though he was responsible for the insurance thing, he probably justifies to himself that Hamlin was ultimately responsible for forcing Chuck out of HHM.

Exo - I've rewatched and it absolutely holds up. Obviously you miss out on those massive OMG HOLY **** reactions from a first time watch but it's still fantastic
